Job Description

Interco is actively seeking an Intern with expertise in APIs to enhance the development team. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in architecting, crafting, and sustaining advanced database solutions. A critical component of this position involves the seamless integration of these solutions with a diverse array of APIs, facilitating flawless data exchange and interoperability among disparate systems.

The role demands a comprehensive skill set encompassing database management systems, adeptness in API development, and proficiency in constructing insightful, user-centric dashboards. The Intern will be at the forefront of tackling complex challenges, employing innovative strategies to design and implement solutions that streamline processes and improve system functionality.

Applicants should be currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Networking, Information Sciences, Computer Programming, or a related field.

Qualifications

Responsibilities Include:

• Design, develop, and maintain databases to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with manager to understand requirements and translate them into dashboard solutions.
• Develop APIs to facilitate data exchange between different systems and applications.
• Implement security measures to protect sensitive data within databases and APIs.
• Optimize API queries and performance tuning to enhance system efficiency.
• Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Applicants should be currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Networking, Information Sciences, Computer Programming, or a related field.
• Proficiency with API Integrations
• Diligent attitude and punctuality
• Must be naturally driven to produce high quality results with great care

Additional Information

Compensation:

• Pay rate: $15 / hour
• Operating hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00AM-5:00PM.
• This position does not offer healthcare benefits

The Interco recycling facilities are separated into three departments: nonferrous metals, computers and electronics, and battery processing. The nonferrous facility is located on the 40-acre main campus in Madison (IL) while the computers and electronics are processed in Edwardsville where the Administrative and some logistics offices are located.
