    Job Description

    Interco has an opening for an International Logistics Coordinator in the Trucking & Logistics department. At Interco this person must be the in-house expert for international logistics, remaining current on events impacting the freight routes and transportation channels and providing guidance and recommendations for change proactively.

    The right candidate will have a background as a freight forwarder or customs broker. The Interco International Logistics Coordinator must possess exceptional logistics expertise to ensure optimal delivery of products. This person will closely monitor key performance indicators including but not limited to cycle time, cost and quality of service and manage standard supplier performance metrics utilizing a standard scorecard, quarterly business reviews, etc. to ensure the lowest cost lane segments for the level of cycle time and frequency required.

    This position requires existing relationships with freight forwarders, domestic and international carriers, shipping lines, and related strategic partners and the ability and skill to develop global partnerships with a focus on inbound and outbound transportation networks. The International Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of international shipments – both import and export – from planning shipments, monitoring their progress, and preparing the necessary documentation and regulatory requirements including identifying the correct Harmonized Tariff Codes while tracking and managing tariff and customs fees.

    The International Logistics Coordinator must plan, direct, and control all aspects of international shipments in the Trucking & Logistics department while managing direct contact with vendors, brokers, agents and, as necessary, carriers to manage all international shipping. The position must also identify and suggest opportunities for cost reduction, material flow improvement, and business development.

    This role is accountable for supporting company strategic imperatives and continually identifying operational, service, and process improvements in a time-sensitive and cost-effective environment. The International Logistics Coordinator works internally with the Interco Commercial and Operations teams as well as with freight forwarders, brokers, vendors, and other outside service providers to guarantee that the department operates in accordance with all local, state, and federal and international customs laws.

    Ideal candidates will be strong communicators and multi-taskers who are adaptable, resilient, and eager to attack unfamiliar problems with curiosity and a bias for action. The position requires someone who is very detail-oriented with exceptional time management and organizational skills. This person must communicate well on the telephone, via email, and in person with staff members. The right candidate will take great pride in providing excellent service to company team members and both Interco customers and suppliers alike.

    Responsibilities Include:

    Plan, direct and control all aspects of international shipments

    Manage direct contact with vendors, brokers, agents, and carriers

    Ensure optimal cost lane segments commensurate with company needs

    Utilize and develop existing relationships with freight forwarders, domestic and international carriers, shipping lines, and related strategic partners

    Develop strategic global transportation network partnerships

    Identify and suggest opportunities for cost reduction, material flow improvement, and business development

    Coordinate all aspects of international shipments and guarantee everything is in accordance with all local, state, and federal and international customs laws.

    Plan shipments, monitor their progress, and prepare necessary documentation and maintain regulatory requirements

    Identify the correct Harmonized Tariff Codes and manage tariff and customs fees

    Must remain current on events impacting the freight routes and transportation channels and providing guidance and recommendations for change proactively

    Closely monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators

    Additional Information

    • Compensation:
    • $40,000-$60,000
