    Job Description

    Interco has an opening for a Business Development Intern in the Industrial Metals Trading Department at the company's Commercial Operations office on The Hill in St. Louis, Missouri. We are looking for someone who wants to be great and work for a great company.

    This job consists of conducting market analysis and making calls to Fortune 500 companies, setting phone calls, Teams meetings, etc. An outstanding candidate should be able to write articulate and succinct emails, process and analyze information and synthesize both pricing and market information back to the commercial team. The ideal candidate will be results-oriented, with the ability to work both in a team environment and alone. The candidate will be evaluated on the quality of leads produced and the overall success achieved by the team. This position can lead to a full-time role as a Business Development Representative.

    The company emphasizes practical training over formal orientation, with intern progression to roles like Business Development Representative or Commercial Trader based on performance. The Intern will collaborate daily in a fast-paced environment valuing constructive criticism and where learning opportunities are continuous. Interco values of practical learning experiences over traditional desk-based internships.     • Strong skills in processing and analyzing information, including the ability to synthesize pricing and market information and communicate insights to the commercial team
    • A focus on achieving goals and producing quality leads, with a willingness to be evaluated on the success achieved by the team
    • Ability to work effectively both in a collaborative team environment and independently, demonstrating initiative and responsibility
    • Willingness to adapt to the fast-paced environment of the Commercial Operations office, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities

    Qualifications:

    • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write articulate and succinct emails and engage effectively with clients and team members
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and find creative solutions
