    Job Description

    Interco has an opening for an intern in the Business Development department. The intern will report directly to the Vice President of Business Development. The position requires a self-starter with the ability to follow clear instructions. The right candidate will display a motivated attitude and an eagerness to excel in a fast-paced environment and possess a strong competitive desire to succeed.

    This is an excellent OPPORTUNITY FOR A CURRENT COLLEGE STUDENT OR RECENT GRADUATE to interact with professionals in a growing trader environment, develop and cultivate proven creative marketing techniques, and work hand-in-hand with a renowned business development expert and strategist.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Prospect account leads through CRM provisioning and direct prospect interaction
    • Work directly with a Sr. Trader to learn the ins-and-outs of Metals Trading from an experienced veteran
    • Interact with suppliers regarding the purchase of their materials
    • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers
    • Build relationships by building trust, working through issues, developing strategies, etc
    • Input and record transaction data in proprietary ERP system
    • Attend daily meetings as required to obtain information pertaining to procurement requirements
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Current student in pursuit of a degree in business, marketing, communication, or related field
    • Eagerness to close a deal
    • Work experience in Sales, Customer Service, or other roles where organization and structure was a key function of the role
    • Excellent decision-making and advanced written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong problem solving and negotiation skills -- puzzle-solving is very helpful
    • Ability to communicate with people at all levels, both written and spoken
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and utilizing CRM software is preferred

    Additional Information

    Term:

    • Start Date: September 2019 or earlier as schedules permit
    • End Date: November 2019 or later as schedules permit
    • Weekly time commitment: 20-40 hours
    • Hours of operation: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
