    An Exciting Opportunity:

    Our client is one of the leading firms in specialty medical chemical solutions has developed the new role of Director of Supply Base. The position of Director of Supply Base is responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategic sourcing, MRP demand planning and provide administrative leadership across the department with both the U.S. domestic and international operations. This role is also responsible for identifying direct manufacturers and distributors, maintaining accountability amongst suppliers to supplier agreements & scorecards and implementing and maintaining MRP demand planning processes and systems.

    Initiatives you will Challenge:

    § Conceptualizes and develops strategies for the Global portfolio of products.

    § Leads the global category management in the conceptualization and execution of Sourcing  projects through project management methodologies.

    § Track business intelligence information at the Commodity level for decision making on Sourcing  processes.

    § Implement MRP forecasting and planning process and systems.

    § Oversees the allocation of interdepartmental resources to execute Sourcing projects, this by  collaborating with the Leadership structure of different business groups

    § Leads negotiation efforts on key Commodities for global suppliers.

    § Oversees the Supplier Relationship Management process with focus on mediating any  opportunities in level of service, on-time delivery and quality.

    § Oversees all related intelligence for international foreign trade implications applicable to Nelson  Global Product’s line of business and defines strategies to minimize cost impacts for the  organization.

    § Being a collaborative partner & leader in our client’’s SIOP (Sales Inventory Operations  Planning) process

    To be successful in this role you will need:

    § Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or chemical engineering or equivalent experience. § Master’s degree preferred.

    § Minimum of 12 years purchasing and supply chain experience in the chemical industry required. § Experience in raw material procurement is required including RFQ, RFP and Supply  agreements.

    § Possess a strong understanding of Chemical CAS registry numbers and chemical trade names § A proven track record of delivering significant savings in a Chemical Supply Base position § Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, ERP and MRP systems

    § APICS certification preferred

    § Demonstrated professional process management skills

    § Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong presentation skills § Strong customer service orientation

    § Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
