Director of Quality & Patient Safety

Central California | Full-Time | Acute Care Hospital

Make a Difference Where Quality Meets Compassion

Join a highly respected regional health system in California’s Central Valley—an organization known for its deep community roots, clinical excellence, and genuine commitment to improving lives. This is your opportunity to lead system-wide quality and patient safety initiatives at a hospital that’s large enough to offer complexity and challenge, yet close-knit enough for your leadership to truly make a visible impact.

    Why You’ll Love This Role

As the Director of Quality & Patient Safety, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping a culture of excellence—partnering closely with physician leaders, executives, and frontline caregivers to elevate care delivery. You’ll guide performance improvement efforts, oversee accreditation readiness, and lead a talented team that takes pride in turning data into meaningful action.

Here, your work won’t get lost in layers of bureaucracy—you’ll have direct access to senior leadership, the resources to implement real change, and the satisfaction of seeing your initiatives improve outcomes across the continuum of care.

    What’s Special About the Community

This role offers the perfect balance of professional challenge and personal reward. Nestled in a vibrant, family-friendly community with tree-lined streets, a lively downtown, and easy access to National Parks and California’s wine country. The cost of living is remarkably reasonable, the people are warm, and weekends can take you from farmers’ markets to mountain hikes in under an hour.

It’s an ideal home base for leaders who want to enjoy California’s beauty and lifestyle—without the congestion or cost of the big cities.

    What You’ll Do

    • Lead the design and execution of the hospital’s Quality and Patient Safety plans in collaboration with clinical and medical staff leaders.

    • Guide and mentor a team of professionals dedicated to quality improvement, data analysis, and safety culture advancement.

    • Oversee accreditation readiness and continuous compliance with The Joint Commission and regulatory standards.

    • Partner with medical staff and executive leadership to identify, analyze, and respond to trends in patient safety events.

    • Champion education and development in quality science and safety principles across the organization.

    • Drive measurable improvements in outcomes, efficiency, and patient experience through evidence-based methods.

    What You Bring

    • Licensure/Certification: Current clinical license required (RN strongly preferred). Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) required.

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline required; Master’s degree preferred.

    • Experience: Minimum five years in hospital quality and patient safety leadership; management experience preferred.

    • Skills: Deep knowledge of performance improvement methods, accreditation standards, and data-driven decision-making. Strong communication and leadership presence.

Why This Is a Standout Opportunity

You’ll be joining a hospital that has earned national recognition for its dedication to clinical excellence and innovation. The organization’s leadership team fosters collaboration, transparency, and professional growth. You’ll have the autonomy to influence systems, the support to lead boldly, and the community connection that reminds you every day why your work matters.
