Information Technology Director
AGENCY: INTERIM, Inc. is a private non-profit agency that provides residential treatment, affordable housing, supported employment and education services, and social rehabilitation programs for adults with psychiatric disabilities.
POSITION: Information Technology Director
HOURS: Full time (40 hours/week); Exempt (not eligible for overtime)
SALARY: $78,580 - $116,777 (10 steps) year; Medical/Dental/Vision/Group Life and 403(b) Savings plans; paid vacation and sick leave.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Required: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information technology, finance, public health administration or related field.
Skills/Knowledge: Required:
• At least 5 years’ experience in general management positions, with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience;
• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs;
• Experience providing overall direction to information technology staff and contractors, including networking, hardware, software and data management;
• Experience in development, installation and management of data networks (preferably including cloud computing solutions), data systems, and data analysis, including outcome measurement;
• Experience with data security, business continuation and disaster recovery management;
• Experience with evaluation, implementation and management of telecommunications systems (preferably including VOIP & cloud solutions);
• Experience with evaluation, implementation and management of surveillance systems;
• Experienced in negotiation with vendors, evaluation and purchasing or leasing of office equipment (such as MFP’s, cell phones) and consideration of ergonomics in purchasing of desks and chairs for workstations.
• Excellent and effective interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style;
• High comfort level working in diverse environment;
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Preferred: Knowledge of trends in local, state and federal policies and funding in the behavioral healthcare industry; experience with Electronic Medical Record Systems.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The IT Director reports to the Executive Director, interacts with the Board of
Directors, serves as a member of the management team and contributes to the development and
implementation of agency strategies, policies and practices. The IT Director directly supervises the IT
Department and other office staff as assigned, manages the IT network contractor and has primary
responsibility for:
1. Information Technology
a. Directs Information Technology Department staff, as well as supervises, evaluates and
monitors IT network contractor;
b. Oversees annual planning of hardware & software purchases and replacement;
Evaluates existing office software and data systems to determine if they meet the needs
of agency and recommends modifications and replacements;
c. Evaluates agency needs for ownership of electronic health records and coordinates the
planning, evaluation, implementation and management of agency EHR if the need is
validated;
d. Working with consultants, determines and implements the most effective network
design and administration, giving consideration to site-based networking vs. cloudbased
network;
e. Ensures appropriate steps are taken to maximize network and data security
f. Evaluates existing telecommunications network, recommends solutions to existing and
planned operational needs, negotiates with vendors and implements authorized
solutions;
g. Works with Housing and Program Management to develop solutions to site surveillance
needs, negotiates with vendors and implements authorized solutions;
h. Works with Housing Management to develop solutions to irrigation control system
needs, assists in negotiation with vendors and in the implementation of authorized
solutions;
i. Works with users to plan and implement appropriate data systems to enhance
operational efficiency and meet outcome measurement goals.
j. Coordinates IT issues with funders, including Monterey County.
2. Purchasing/Cost Management
a. Directs purchasing and management of office equipment, furnishings, surveillance
equipment, and phone systems, including office systems and cell phones.
3. Risk Management
a. Serves as agency HIPAA Security Officer responsible for ensuring the agency’s physical
and electronic/digital security; oversees issues related to resolution of complaints from
employees and community members; manages any issues related to information breaches.
4. Performs special projects as assigned by the Executive Director. Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Ability to drive an automobile to travel to program
sites and meetings, ability to see well enough to read data on a computer screen, ability to hear
normal conversations and answer telephone, ability to communicate with other staff; hand, finger and
body coordination sufficient to write clearly and to input data into a computer. Capable of the
following extended activities: sitting, working on keyboard. Capable of the following intermittent
activities: lifting up to 25 lbs. to move materials/computers, bending to access files and copier;
standing to give presentations, climbing stairs.

REQUIREMENTS: Over 21 or at least two years’ driving experience; valid California driver's license;
own vehicle in good operating condition; auto liability insurance and a good driving record; criminal
record clearance; ability to pass physical exam; verification of citizenship or eligibility to work in the
United States.
