  • Responsibilities

    Under supervision and direction of the Landscape Supervisor, the Landscape Assistant's responsibilities are the following:  

    1. Performs general yard maintenance and gardening.

    2. Sweeps and/or blows sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots.

    3. Disposes of trash and clippings into refuse cans or dumpsters.

    4. Opens locked equipment closets at assigned job sites.

    5. Maintains inventory and condition of tools.

    6. May train new personnel on safe and proper use of tools.

    7. Oversee property work crews and allocate work if necessary.

    8. Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have ability to perform gardening and general grounds cleaning and maintenance tasks. Have the ability to read and understand instruction manuals in English. Maintain written record of completed assignments. Applicant must be able to communicate orally in English. All applicants must have a means of transportation, to be able to work at all Interim Inc. properties.

    SALARY: $10.50 to $11.36/hour (3 steps); nonexempt, eligible for overtime; must work minimum 3 days per week to qualify for eligibility step increases.

    HOURS: May work up to 19 hours/ week.

    REQUIREMENTS:  Over age 18.  Ability to pass physical exam. Subject to criminal record clearance for licensed sites preferred. Verification of citizenship or eligibility to work in the United States (I-9 eligibility). 

    PHYSICAL & SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:  Able to hear normal conversations and to orally communicate with residents and staff. Hand, finger and body coordination sufficient to operate tools associated with landscape procedures. Ability to lift materials up to 40 pounds in weight. Capable of the following extended activities: bending, stooping, climbing and working from ladders, and lifting;Visual acuity to read product labels, work orders, etc.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic materials (such as pesticides). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
