JOB DESCRIPTION
The ideal candidate will apply professional psychiatric nursing care principles and practices in the evaluation and treatment of psychiatric patients; Communicate with and gain the cooperation of patients; Keep accurate written charts and records of patient activities and progress; Conduct psycho-social assessments of individuals; Establish psychiatric diagnosis and evaluate diagnostic tests. In addition, the psychiatric nurse practitioner will formulate treatment plans and manage follow-up care for all clients; Learn and comply with laws, rules, regulations, protocols, and procedures; Use professional judgment to determine and apply appropriate intervention techniques with patients in crisis; Conduct and review reports of interviews of patients to evaluate their condition and determine the circumstances causing them to require mental health treatment services; Conduct and assist in formal and informal individual and group counseling; Communicate effectively orally and in writing, with patients, their families, facility and clinic personnel, and others; Maintain patient confidentiality.

SALARY
$67.57-$87.99/hour based on experience and education; Exempt; Not eligible for Overtime.
*Eligible for Sign-on Bonus.

Deputy Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
Current R.N. license in the state of California required. Nurse Practitioner certification by the California Board of Registered Nursing (board certified psychiatric or family nurse practitioner. Graduate of an Accredited School of Nurse Practitioner Program (MSN or DNP) required.
Three (3) years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a Psychiatric setting required. National Certification by recognized board-American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) OR American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) required. Furnishing privileges and DEA License with the California Board of Registered Nursing required. BLS Certification required. Demonstrated knowledge of psychiatric illnesses including addictions.
Valid California driver's license; Auto in safe operating condition; Auto liability insurance; Good driving record; Criminal record clearance; Proof of authorization to work in the United States as required by Immigration and Reform Act of 1986.

Under the supervision of the Deputy Director, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to: operate a motor vehicle; climb stairs; write and communicate in English; enter data on a computer screen; read documents being word-processed, etc.; answer phones and communicate with staff, residents and agency visitors; meet the requirements of the classification and have mobility, vision, hearing and dexterity levels appropriate to the duties to be performed. Capable of the following extended activities: standing, sitting, climbing stairs.
Capable of the following intermittent activities: lifting 25 pounds or more and bending in the performance of infrequently performed office duties.
