    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The ideal candidate will be under the general supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Job Coach is responsible for providing Non-Supported Employment Job Coaching for DOR clients accepted to the Case Services Contract.

    COMPENSATION

    $18.41-$23.97 per hour; Nonexempt; 20 hours/week; Eligible for Overtime.

    REPORTS TO

    Program Coordinator.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    REQUIRED: High School Diploma; excellent English oral and written communication skills; Ability to work cooperatively with other Interim staff, employers and other collaborating agencies. Demonstrated ability to problem solve and use good judgment

    PREFERRED: Bachelor’s degree; Bi-lingual (Spanish)

    Valid California driver's license; auto in safe operating condition; auto liability insurance; good driving record; criminal record clearance; proof of authorization to work in the United States as required by Immigration and Reform Act of 1986. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Job Coach will assist with the following duties:

    1. Provide one on one support to assure client success in employment placements. Model behavior and provide follow up support for successful job retention.

    2. Train clients to perform tasks required of a given job including operating and/or maintaining equipment.

    3.  Act as a liaison with the employer, providing training and supports, consultation on employment related issues for success of long term employment.

    1. Assist clients with identifying and requesting accommodations on the job.

    2. Assist clients with ADA related issues.

    3. Complies with employer policies and procedures while assigned to their locations.

    4. Represent the Agency in the community. Maintains a professional relationship with family members, employers, and funding sources.

    5. Work in a variety of settings and assignments as needed to accommodate changing needs and or request by employers, including hours of work and location.

    6. Monitor and assist clients with individual work habits and attitudes, interpersonal skills and work performance behaviors.

    7. Explaining job duties and assignment into specific steps to facilitate learning.

    8. Consult for, and participate in, coordinated meetings/staffing between DOR, DOR clients and SEES staff to determine agreements for SEES service provision.

    9. Complete written progress reports for all DOR clients participating in services.

    10. Educate employers about various disabilities, necessary job accommodations and services provided by SEES.

    11. Provide on-site job analysis, consultation, and recommendations for worksite and job modification, and assists employers in identifying on –the –job training needs of DOR clients.

    Other Job Functions Include:

    1. Participation in staff meetings.

    2. Work irregular work schedule when necessary.

    3. Travel to employers’ place of business.

    4. Other duties as directed.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Ability to: operate a motor vehicle; climb stairs; possess good communication skills; meet the requirements of the classification and have mobility, vision, hearing and dexterity levels appropriate to the duties to be performed. Capable of the following extended activities: standing, sitting, climbing stairs.

    Capable of the following intermittent activities: lifting 25 pounds or more and bending in the performance of infrequently performed office duties.
