    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The COVID-19 Registered Nurse will be the key resource and central point of contact for all matters in relation to COVID-19 for Interim Inc. The incumbent will be responsible for researching and implementing all federal state and local directives/ guidelines relevant to staff and clients and visitors at Interim Inc. program sites and housing, in relation to the Interim Inc. response to COVID-19.

    COMPENSATION

    Nonexempt; 20-40 hours/week, Temporary, $70/hour; Eligible for overtime.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of California OSHA regulations regarding infection control.

    Knowledge of infection control practices and procedures as related to COVID 19.

    Excellent English writing and oral communication skills.  Ability to research regulations and to write procedures. 

    Current RN license, preferably BA/ BSN level or above

    Preferably 2 years’ experience as RN.

    Valid California driver's license; auto in safe operating condition; auto liability insurance; good driving record; criminal record clearance; proof of authorization to work in the United States as required by Immigration and Reform Act of 1986. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The ideal candidate is responsible for the following duties:

    • Required to work majority of all schedule shifts at agency sites.
    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local restrictions and orders related to controlling and eradicating COVID-19.
    • Develop and complete the relevant checklists and inspect sites to ensure that precautions are implemented correctly for COVID safety.  Document justifications for not undertaking actions or varying from recommended practices.   
    • Oversee the development and implementation of Interim Inc. COVID-19 Safety Plan.
    • Periodically review the effectiveness of the COVID-19 Safety Plan and amend, update or improve as necessary.
    • When required, effectively implement a COVID-19 Emergency Action Plan including quarantines, evacuations, testing, and emergency staffing plans.
    • Oversee and provide COVID testing for staff and clients in conjunction with prescriber.  Keep up to date information on local testing sites, testing timelines, and eligibility for testing.
    • Work with governmental, and other community agencies and Interim managers to respond to situations that require movement of clients or staff to alternative locations for housing/ treatment as necessary. 
    • Act as the contact point for the organization’s participants and staff, particularly around questions relating to program operations and the actions taken to be COVID safe.  Provide training to staff and clients on COVID prevention. 
    • Research and ensure purchase of adequate supply of PPE for staff and clients.  Determine if PPE is used correctly and monitor.
    • Research and advise on environmental modifications to improve COVID safety such as barriers, use of chemicals/ lighting/ cleaning devices. 
    •  Assist the organization operationally to safely increase or add services as permitted by local/ state and federal directives/ regulations. 
    • Other duties as assigned.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Ability to: operate a motor vehicle; climb stairs, stand/ sit, hearing, vision necessary to operate computer and dexterity levels appropriate to the duties to be performed. Possess good communication skills; meet the requirements of the classification. Capable of lifting 25 pounds or more and bending in the performance of infrequently performed office duties. Ability to wear PPE for extended periods of time.  MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ON SITE AT INTERIM ASSIGNED LOCATIONS.
