Interior Design Assistant

Salary Range: $58,000 – $78,000 annually

About the Role

The Interior Design Assistant supports both contracted and VA Interior Designers in executing design services, procurement tasks, and project activations. From the document: “The Interior Design Assistant shall be relied upon to assist the contracted Interior Designer and VA Interior Designer to create and execute appropriate design services for varied spaces… throughout all the major construction projects.”

Key Responsibilities

· • Assist in preparing AutoCAD drawings, FF&E plans, color schemes, and presentation materials.

· • Review architectural drawings for compliance with VA TIL standards.

· • Support creation of procurement packages (SOWs, specifications, IGCEs, budgets).

· • Maintain the Interior Design Resource Library and project binders.

· • Assist with installation oversight and punch‑list coordination.

· • Take meeting notes and prepare design collateral.

· • Support transition planning, move‑in coordination, and activation schedules.

Minimum Qualifications

· • Familiarity with Patient Centered Care culture in healthcare.

· • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

· • Skilled in freehand and scaled drawing.

· • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.

· • Preferred: NCIDQ, PMP, EDAC, LEED.

· • Strong communication skills.

Physical Requirements

· • Ability to conduct on‑site measurements.

· • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.

· • Extended periods of computer work.
