    About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Interior Designer to support the Engineering Service Planning Section within the Interior Design Section. This role independently plans and executes interior design services for healthcare and administrative environments, managing projects from concept through activation, delivery, installation, and closeout. Working under the guidance and review of the Supervisory Interior Designer, the position oversees major activations, relocations, space planning, budgeting, and Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) procurement, ensuring all spaces are functional, aesthetic, and compliant with federal healthcare design standards.

Develop project schedules, objectives, resources, and budgets.

Produce comprehensive FF&E procurement packages, including Statements of Work (SOW), technical specifications, Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs), and delivery schedules.

Coordinate FF&E delivery, installation, activation orders, and closeout activities.

Prepare AutoCAD drawings, sketches, perspectives, color schemes, and visual aids.

Analyze architectural drawings and develop FF&E plan layers.

Maintain the Interior Design Resource Library.

Review wayfinding and signage packages; conduct site walks, generate punch lists, and coordinate completion.

Ensure full compliance with ABAAS, VA Barrier Free Design Guide, TIL, ICC, OSHA, and NFPA standards.

    Qualifications & Skills

Previous experience in healthcare design and a strong familiarity with Patient-Centered Care culture.

Strong ability to review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.

Skilled in free-form and scaled drawing with a deep understanding of furnishing selection and procurement.

Expertise in FF&E selection, specification, budgeting, and procurement.

Required expertise in AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Familiarity with Revit and Microsoft Project is a plus.

NCIDQ, Project Management (PMP), Evidence-Based Design (EDAC), or LEED accreditation is highly desirable.

Ability to work independently with strong written and verbal communication skills.

This position supports a federal nonpersonal services contract with the VA.

The anticipated contract term includes one base year with up to two optional renewal years, subject to funding, performance, and government needs.

As part of the federal approval process, the VA may review resumes and may request interviews.

Final placement and start date are contingent upon VA approval.

While Kaleidoscope Supply Services manages the staffing process, the employer of record will be the client company supporting the VA contract.
