    Position Overview

    The Interior Removal & Installation Technician is responsible for the safe removal, inspection, installation, and reinstallation of aircraft interior components during maintenance, refurbishment, and modification projects. This role focuses on ensuring accurate fit, structural integrity, and high-quality finish while maintaining compliance with FAA regulations and FlyExclusive standards.

    Technicians in this role work with cabinetry, seats, sidewalls, headliners, flooring, lavatories, galleys, insulation, and various cabin components.

    Key Responsibilities

    Interior Removal

    • Remove interior components including seats, panels, cabinetry, sidewalls, headliners, carpet, trim, lavatories, and galleys.

    • Document removed parts and hardware, ensuring proper tagging, storage, and protection.

    • Identify damaged, worn, or non-conforming components and report findings to Leads or Supervisors.

    Interior Installation

    • Install interior components according to engineering drawings, AMM instructions, and company work orders.

    • Fit, align, and secure panels, trim, seating, cabinetry, and other cabin structures.

    • Install insulation, soundproofing materials, and interior assemblies as required.

    • Ensure proper torque values, hardware selection, and fastening techniques.

    Inspection & Quality

    • Verify proper fit, clearance, alignment, and functionality of interior components.

    • Support Quality Assurance inspections and correct discrepancies when needed.

    • Perform final checks to ensure cabin appearance meets FlyExclusive quality standards.

    Technical Skills & Tools

    • Read and interpret maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, and work instructions.

    • Use hand tools, torque wrenches, drills, fasteners, adhesives, and specialty interior tools.

    • Safely handle and protect high-value interior components during installation.

    Documentation & Communication

    • Accurately complete work orders, removal logs, and installation records.

    • Communicate material shortages, job delays, or technical issues to leadership.

    • Coordinate with Upholstery, Carpentry, and Finishing teams to ensure workflow continuity.

    Safety & Compliance

    • Follow FAA, OSHA, and company safety procedures during all interior work.

    • Maintain FOD control and proper housekeeping in aircraft and shop environments.

    • Ensure proper handling of chemicals, adhesives, and protective materials.

    Qualifications

    • 1–3+ years of aircraft interior installation or removal experience preferred.

    • Experience in aircraft interiors, automotive interiors, or cabinetry installation is beneficial.

    • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and follow precise instructions.

    • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

    • Ability to work independently or within a team environment.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined cabin spaces.

    • Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods.

    • Comfortable working around chemicals, adhesives, and various interior materials.

    Work Environment

    • Fast-paced MRO environment with shifting priorities.

    • Overtime, weekends, and alternate shifts may be required based on project needs.
