    Job Description

    This is a full-time position with the INTERLINK operations team in Hillsboro, Oregon.    Currently there are two attorneys that comprise the negotiating team, so we are seeking candidates with a Business Finance or Accounting degree with sales or service industry experience.    This is an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking to use their numerical and analytical education, but in a negotiation environment.    

    Healthcare negotiations can be exciting for those who like analysis, like to develop persuasive arguments, enjoy business travel on occasion and want to gain very specialized knowledge.    People who transition into healthcare seldom leave because of the compensation, interesting work and professional work environment.   

    INTERLINK is currently expanding its networks and negotiating rates for different types of health plans.   Transplant contact negotiations are mostly for case rates, which include money for organ acquisition, hospital and professional fees into a lump sum payment.   Hospitals have negotiations who are friendly and the negotiations are typically non-contentious.   INTERLINK will supply all training and support for the appropriate candidate.

    The position will also provide analytical support for the CancerCARE program, helping the management to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.  They will also be working with the CancerCARE nurses assigning dollar values for changes in care and treatment plans as part of our value program.     

    This position will report directly to the Vice President of Operations and Senior Director of Operations; a strong work ethic, consistent project completion and follow through are required.                 

    Core Responsibilities & Requirements

    • Learn and understand the negotiation process under the supervision of the contracting team.
    •  Review completed transplant cases for financial performance.
    •  Coordinate questions between the transplant center contact and the     Account  Management team for client question clarification.
    • Become a member of the INTERLINK Contracting Quality Assurance process, which reviews newly negotiated agreements, writes them into Contract Rate Summaries for client viewing and then work with the web team to load them up to the website.
    • Review contact rates and structures for centers in your region of the country and discuss your assessments with the team.
    • Become part of the Performance Model development and management team.   The Performance Model is an INTERLINK program with identifies best outcome transplant teams.    Great opportunity to develop EXCEL skills.
    • Travel with the Medical Director to do site visits for transplant centers targeted for network inclusion.
    • Coordinate with the sales and marketing teams to create quarterly electronic announcements for newly negotiated rates, new network  teams and other negotiated agreements

     EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:                            

    • Bachelor’s Degree In Finance or Accounting from a four year university
    • Three years of successful work experience with a documented history of success

    SUPERVISION:

    Report to The Vice President of Operations & Chief Executive Officer under a mentoring program.
