Join Itron in West Union, SC to support on-site HR operations. This paid intern position allows college students to gain real world experience in human resources to complement their studies.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide support to HR programs that are being developed, maintained and implemented, including engaging directly with employees on a variety of HR related tasks
• Learn and understand business implications of HR decisions
• With support, lead some local HR initiatives, programs, and documentation
• Ask questions and offer input when supervisors deal with more complex situations
• Support coordinating employee events, trainings and reporting
• Learn and understand any regulations related to departmental tasks
• Help department stay abreast of latest developments in the field and in any changes related to HR educational practices
• Assist with assigned HR duties

Required Skills & Experience:

• Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university. Preference will be given to candidates majoring in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related fields.
• Professional workplace communication skills
• Intermediate workplace software competencies (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
• Available at least 20-hours per week in summer, preference for candidates who are available full-time (40-hours per week).
• Able to work on-site in West Union, SC
• Interest and curiosity to grow understanding of Human Resources

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Prior related work, internship or volunteer experience

Travel: 1 - 10%

Physical Demands: This is a typical office job, with no special physical requirements. This role will work on site at a manufacturing site in production environment.
