THE ROLE
Primarily responsible for Identifying Network issues using various tools and working with support teams to resolve those issues.
THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Basic Network understanding and troubleshooting skills of Cisco Network Devices.
Willingness to learn new technologies via classroom training, and cross-training with higher-level members.
Ability to collaborate with team members both in-person and remotely.
Need to know the difference between Cisco layer 3 Routers and layer 2 Switches as well as a basic understanding of the OSI model.
Ability to provide efficient quality service to internal support teams over the phone using Soft Phone technology.
Flexibility of schedule that may be required to work overnight and possibly weekends.
Ability to articulate issues that need to be escalated to higher-tiered network teams.
Requires minimal direction and guidance with tasks.
Basic understanding of Network monitoring tools.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CANDIDATE
Must have completed a 10 week internship with Lumen Technologies
1-2 years of professional network experience or equivalent education like a bachelor’s Degree
Basic network understanding and troubleshooting skills of Cisco Network Devices.
Must know the difference between Cisco layer 3 Routers and Layer 2 Switches as well as a basic understanding of the OSI model
Must have flexibility to work overnight and possibly weekends if needed.
Basic understanding of Network monitoring tools
