THE ROLE

Primarily responsible for Identifying Network issues using various tools and working with support teams to resolve those issues.

THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Basic Network understanding and troubleshooting skills of Cisco Network Devices.

• Willingness to learn new technologies via classroom training, and cross-training with higher-level members.

• Ability to collaborate with team members both in-person and remotely.

• Need to know the difference between Cisco layer 3 Routers and layer 2 Switches as well as a basic understanding of the OSI model.

• Ability to provide efficient quality service to internal support teams over the phone using Soft Phone technology.

• Flexibility of schedule that may be required to work overnight and possibly weekends.

• Ability to articulate issues that need to be escalated to higher-tiered network teams.

• Requires minimal direction and guidance with tasks.

• Basic understanding of Network monitoring tools.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CANDIDATE

• Must have completed a 10 week internship with Lumen Technologies

• 1-2 years of professional network experience or equivalent education like a bachelor’s Degree

• Basic network understanding and troubleshooting skills of Cisco Network Devices.

• Must know the difference between Cisco layer 3 Routers and Layer 2 Switches as well as a basic understanding of the OSI model

• Must have flexibility to work overnight and possibly weekends if needed.

• Basic understanding of Network monitoring tools
