The Main Responsibilities

Lumen’s Finance organization is looking for a Accounting Intern for our Network Expense (Netex) **** Accounting Team. This Team’s focus is centered around Lumen’s monthly Netex recording and reporting activities . The intern will assist the Team with the “closing of the books” activities for month end and quarter end, including reporting the results to upper management. Interns can expect to complete hands on assignments in both individual and team settings.

Main responsibilities of intern will include:

• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations
• Prepare ad hoc Netex accounting analyses,
• Support month-end journal entry preparation
• Special projects as needed.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Education Requirements

• Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or masters level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2024 – June 2025.
• Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Accounting or related field.

Proficiency and understanding of:

• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Must be proficient in Excel and Word!
• Strong Excel skills required to be successful in role
• PowerBI exposure is beneficial
• SAP experience is desired but not required
• SQL experience desired but not required

• Problem-Solver – you will need to be able to analyze a situation and make recommendations for resolutions, sometimes these answers are not obvious

Work Setting

• This position is fully remote/ work from home working hours must be 8am to 5pm CST or MST.
• Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours per week during the 10-week program (June – August)
• US work authorization

Compensation

Internship compensation ranges depends on each individuals level of education, geographic location, and experience/qualifications aligned to the role.

Hourly Based Pay Range:

Min : $25.00/hour

Max : $41.00/hour
