    Squarespace Website Designer

    PAID INTERNSHIP – 1099 Contract

    Turning Point Search, Inc. is currently seeking a creative professional with experience in using the Squarespace platform to update the design of an existing website for an enhanced visually appealing, modern, and informative user experience. This person will be focusing on aesthetics, user experience, and brand consistency, while leveraging Squarespace's features and functionalities to build customized online presences.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Will meet with company owner to understand business goals, target audience, and desired website aesthetics and functionality.
    • Will plan, design, and create sitemaps, wireframes, and visual mockups to establish the website structure and layout.
    • Select the most suitable Squarespace template and tailor it to the brand identity through color schemes, fonts, and imagery.
    • Assist company in creating and organizing website content, including text, images, photos, and possibly videos.
    • Ensure the website looks and functions well across different devices and screen sizes.
    • Implement best practices for website search engine optimization (SEO) to improve visibility.
    • May make necessary code adjustments within Squarespace's limitations to achieve desired design elements.
    • Thoroughly test and review the website for usability issues and functionality before launch.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Must have proficiency in Squarespace platform experience: Deep understanding of Squarespace features, editing tools, and design capabilities.
    • Portfolio: Will share previous projects and websites during interview to showcase capabilities.
    • Visual design skills: Strong aesthetic sense with expertise in typography, color theory, and layout design.
    • UX design principles: Knowledge of user experience design best practices to create intuitive and user-friendly websites.
    • Basic HTML and CSS understanding: Familiarity with web development languages to make minor customizations
    • Communication skills: Excellent ability to communicate design concepts clearly to clients and collaborate effectively.
    • Project management skills: Ability to manage the project and meet agreed upon deadlines.
    • Marketing knowledge: Understanding of digital marketing concepts to optimize website for lead generation and conversions

    Education:

    • Associates Degree in Website Design and Development highly preferred; will consider current enrollment of same or similar college major
