The purpose of this position is to provide a safe and organized environment for staff and campers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees operations by maintaining open communication with staff, co-workers, vendors, and parents, updating weekly and monthly calendars, coordinating daily activities, and completing appropriate paperwork.
Supervises staff by conducting staff meetings and orientation, creating staff schedules, and ensuring staff training and adherence to policies and procedures.
Maintains safety by adhering to safety policies and procedures, completing paperwork for accidents and injuries, reporting safety hazards, and ensuring staff knowledge of safety procedures.
Provides programs by planning trips, travel arrangements, and driver schedules, organizing weekly and monthly calendars, coordinating bus schedules, supervising and assisting staff with activities sheets, coordinating special events, and inventorying and ordering supplies.
Supplemental Functions: Performs other similar duties as required.

Arts and crafts principles and practices
Basic safety and medical principles
Developmentally appropriate activities for children
Event coordination principles and practices
Supervisory techniques, principles, and practices
Applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations
Licensing and Certifications:
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid Certifications
Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Positions in this class typically require: lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Incumbents may be subjected to inside and outside environmental conditions.

High school diploma or equivalency and at least six-months to one year of advanced study, with at least one (1) year of experience; or the City may consider an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
