DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital is seeking full-time Certified or Licensed Veterinary Technicians (CVT/LVT/RVT) to join our Internal Medicine team.
Note for applicants: DoveLewis hires for both a general Veterinary Technician role and department-specific technician roles like Internal Medicine. These positions share similar credential requirements (CVT/LVT/RVT), and qualified applicants may be considered for other technician openings based on experience, interest, and hospital needs.
This is a great fit for a technician who enjoys relationship-based medicine , thrives in a specialty/referral environment , and values both high-level technical skill and excellent client communication. You'll work side-by-side with our internists each day to deliver high-quality, client-centered care and collaborate closely with ICU to support hospitalized internal medicine patients.
Pay
- $30–$38/hour for Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVT, LVT, RVT, or a license transferable to Oregon)
- $38–$44/hour for Veterinary Technician Specialists (VTS)
- 10% Saturday Differential
Schedule
Choose from:
- Tue/Wed/Thu/Fri – 10-hour shifts
- Thu/Fri/Sat – 12-hour shifts (new team!)
What you'll do
As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician, you'll provide exceptional nursing care by carrying out internist-directed treatment plans and supporting both chronic and newly referred patients.
You'll be hands-on across the full patient care experience, including:
- Patient intake and check-in
- Calculating dosages and administering medications
- Running in-house lab work
- Placing catheters and tubes
- Monitoring comfort, vitals, and overall patient progress
- Supporting sedated and anesthetized patients
- Providing thoughtful, clear client updates and education for both chronic and acute care cases
- Collaborating across teams to ensure a smooth, high-standard care experience
You will assist with advanced internal medicine diagnostics and procedures, including:
- GI endoscopy
- Arthrocentesis
- Bone marrow aspiration/biopsy
- Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tubes

Requirements
- Current status as:
- ****Certified Veterinary Technician in Oregon, or
- Licensed/Registered Veterinary Technician elsewhere with the ability to transfer to Oregon
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Preferred
- 3+ years of experience as a veterinary technician or assistant
- 1+ year of emergency and/or specialty small animal experience ****
