    The Internal Used Car Reconditioning Advisor plays a key role in overseeing the process of reconditioning used cars for resale within the dealership. This position is responsible for ensuring that all used vehicles meet the dealership's quality standards, are properly evaluated, and are reconditioned in a timely and cost-effective manner. The advisor will work closely with the service department, reconditioning teams, and management to ensure that vehicles are fully ready for sale, providing a smooth process for the dealership and customers.

    Key Responsibilities :

    1. Vehicle Evaluation & Assessment: * Inspect incoming used vehicles to determine necessary repairs and reconditioning requirements (mechanical, cosmetic, and safety). * Provide detailed evaluations of each vehicle's condition to ensure all issues are identified before the reconditioning process begins.
    2. Reconditioning Process Management : * Create detailed repair orders for the reconditioning process based on the assessment. * Collaborate with service department staff and external vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of reconditioning tasks (e.g., mechanical repairs, detailing, bodywork, tire replacements). * Monitor and prioritize the flow of vehicles through the reconditioning process, ensuring deadlines are met. * Maintain an accurate inventory of parts and materials needed for reconditioning.
    3. Quality Control : * Oversee the quality of reconditioning work, ensuring vehicles meet dealership standards. * Perform final inspections of reconditioned vehicles, ensuring all repairs and upgrades are completed according to specifications.
    4. Cost Management & Budgeting: * Monitor reconditioning expenses to ensure work is completed within budget. * Make recommendations for cost-saving measures while maintaining the quality of the reconditioned vehicles.
    5. Communication and Collaboration : * Serve as the primary point of contact for the used car department regarding reconditioning progress, timelines, and issues. * Maintain effective communication with management, service department, and sales team to ensure alignment on vehicle availability and quality. * Provide regular updates on vehicle status and potential delays.
    6. Vendor Relations : * Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors for services such as body repair, upholstery, and other specialized reconditioning needs. * Negotiate pricing and service agreements with external vendors to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality service.
    7. Compliance and Documentation : * Ensure all vehicles comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including emissions standards and safety requirements. * Document all repairs, services, and parts used during the reconditioning process. * Maintain detailed records for warranty purposes and future reference.
    8. Customer Satisfaction : * Ensure that reconditioned vehicles meet or exceed customer quality, appearance, and performance expectations. * Address any concerns or issues that arise with reconditioned vehicles.

    Key Qualifications:

    • Must have a valid driver's license with 6 points or less
    • High school education or equivalent
    • Experience working with CDK and Rapid Recon
    • Excellent time-management, organizational, and communication skills
    • Knowledge of vehicle inspection, repair processes, and reconditioning procedures.
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to assess and prioritize reconditioning tasks.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple vehicles simultaneously.
    • Basic knowledge of vehicle safety standards, emissions requirements, and dealership warranty procedures.
    • Must be able to manage relationships across all channels and levels
    • Ability to drive a manual vehicle preferred but not required
