International AeroTech Academy is looking for full-time Aviation Maintenance Technology Instructors to join our dedicated and creative team at our Lakeland, Fl location. In this full-time position with a reliable and consistent work schedule, you can make a difference in the lives of our students, while enjoying day-to-day work with less stress than in a commercial aviation environment.

    Our faculty teach both lab and lecture courses and collaborate with a shared stewardship of curriculum development and program quality. We are seeking AMTs to join our team who have experience maintaining a wide variety of civilian aircraft, and particularly transport category experience.

    Under supervision of the Director of Aviation Maintenance Training/Chief Instructor, the Aviation Maintenance Technician Instructor will provide instruction to students during classroom, lab, and shop training within International AeroTech Academy’s FAA approved 14 CFR Part 147 curriculum to prepare students for careers as Aviation Maintenance Technicians and related fields. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to grading, tracking and documenting FAA required attendance, make-up time and material, and associated forms.

    Industry Competencies:

    Be proficient in understanding of 14 CFR Part 147 as it relates to required practical projects of an FAA approved AMTS.

    Be proficient in the field of aircraft technology, maintenance, and operations.

    Be proficient in ability to understand and follow procedures set forth in typical aircraft maintenance documentation and manuals.

    Be proficient in making arithmetic calculations related to aircraft maintenance.

    Based on visual inspections and performance checks of aircraft equipment, be able to make accurate judgments and decisions related to safety.

    Be proficient in analyzing symptoms of improper operation of aircraft systems and follow troubleshooting procedures to determine cause of improper operation.

    Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

    This position is at our Lakeland, FL campus.

    Teach classes on a regularly scheduled basis, as assigned.

    Maintain and deliver a pre-approved FAA syllabus.

    Day-by-day would include 60% work in the hangars and 40% work in the classroom setting.

    Job Requirements: Qualifications & Competencies:

    Must have an FAA A&P, or Airframe or Powerplant License.

    FCC GROL or NCATT certifications a plus.

    Must have 3 or more years of hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance (special considerations will be given for more diverse experience).

    Prefer an outgoing personality with good communication skills and the ability to instruct students in this field of study.

    Prefer prior instructional experience.

    Good skills with Microsoft Office and Adobe.
