    This is a critical time for policing and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) is at the forefront, working to engage communities and promote leading policing practices. The IACP is dedicated to enhancing the policing profession through new initiatives, advocacy, and member services that bring innovation, promising practices, and training to the field. The association is seeking individuals with the passion, energy, and commitment to dedicate their professional efforts towards moving the field of policing forward. We offer a learning-oriented, service-focused, and inclusive work environment that encourages open communication and discussion in a team-based, cross team environment.

    The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Human Resources Intern to assist our department with administrative and HR-related tasks. The ideal candidate will be studying, recently graduated, and/or has experience in and be interested in Human resources and in the non profit world.

    HR INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Updating HR Information System - UKG- by inputting new employee information and/or employment details.
    • Conducting phones screens and scheduling Interviews.
    • Posting job advertisements to job boards and social media platforms.
    • Removing job advertisements from job boards and all platforms once vacancies have been filled.
    • Assisting the HR staff in organizing the virtual and in-office employee files.
    • Assisting in the planning of company events.
    • Using DocuSign to send offers and other documents as needed.
    • Using UKG-Recruitment Gateway to update the status of applicants and to send rejection letters to candidates.
    • Assisting with new hire orientations.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    HR INTERN REQUIREMENTS:

    • Three Years of college coursework in Psychology or a related area.
    • Proven experience working in an office environment.
    • Working knowledge of U.S. labor laws.
    • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and DocuSign.
    • The ability to work as part of a team.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
    • Effective communication skills.
    • Detail-oriented.

    QUALIFICATIONS & ELIGIBILITY:

    • Applicant must be a college student, a graduate student, or a recent graduate within the past six months
    • Self-starter who is organized and able to work independently
    • Minimum 3.0 grade point average
    • Excellent computer skills
    • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint experience and capabilities
    • A strong detail-oriented mindset
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
    • Ability to communicate and present oneself professionally to stakeholders, association members, partners, and team members
    • Knowledge of or interest in the law enforcement profession is a plus

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The IACP offers a focused, team-oriented, learning environment grounded in open communications, professional development and shared context. Primarily office environment, although light lifting, bending and reaching may be required.
