  • Responsibilities

    This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for the general and specific job duties of IAC as described below:

    General Job Duties:

    • To exhibit teamwork skills and actively participate in team activities in a positive working environment.
    • To demonstrate problem solving skills in a work environment that is striving for continuous improvement.
    • Follow Company policies and display conduct expected of IAC employees as described in the Work Plant Rules and Work Safety Rules.
    • Adhere to all safety and health objectives, policies and procedures of IAC to provide for a safe and healthful workplace.  Work in a safe manner at all times and report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor in order that the situation can be corrected.  Report all accidents and near misses in a timely manner when they occur.
    • Maintain proper ergonomics at all times when performing assigned tasks.
    • To meet and maintain all customer quality standards as well as the standards of IAC.
    • Participate and support all lean, continuous improvement programs, initiatives and activities.

    Clean all assigned work areas after completion of the required work, return all tools to proper storage area at the end of the shift and report any malfunctioning equipment.

    • Direct all non-conforming parts to the appropriate reprocess area.
    • Maintain proper radio etiquette when using company radios, PA system and/or phone, business use only.
    • Assist operations to meet or exceed production goals and departmental objectives.
    • Work overtime as needed in accordance with Company Policy and CBA.
    • Perform all assigned tasks per the TPM, SOP (standard operating procedures), manufacturing alerts, safety alerts and quality alerts.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:

    • Perform troubleshooting of PLC control systems without requiring edits to the existing logic
    • Installation of control system components such as PLC's, vision cameras, Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), motor Electronic, etc as directed by Controls Engineers
    • Understanding  of machine safety electrical circuits and components within Electronic systems
    • Test malfunctioning equipment, discuss malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as Maintenance Machine Repair, to diagnose, direct and/or perform repairs
    • Maintain and install all electrical systems at the facility
    • Maintain a healthy working relationship with Electronic Technicians to improve overall skills and knowledge in the classification
    • Troubleshoot and repair plant robotic systems
    • Troubleshoot motors and basic motor control systems
    • Troubleshoot and replace faulty electrical/electronic components of plant equipment
    • Read and understand basic electrical prints
    • Reference and apply the codes of the NEC
    • Maintain a high quality of workmanship throughout projects and repairs

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must successfully complete hands on test
    • Pass be able to pass the Electrician Test with at least a 75%
    • Must be able to obtain a PIT license within 30 days of accepting bid
    • Must pass Lock Out within 30 days of accepting bid
    • Cannot have more than 15 attendance points
    • Cannot have any active performance/conduct corrective actions above a Written Warning or have any major work rule violations.

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to read, write and speak English effectively along with basic mathematical skills required.
    • Must have a High School education or equivalent if hired after 2009.
    • Must have Applicable Associates degree or equivalent 2-year training from a vocational school OR 4 years documented experience as an electrician in a manufacturing setting.

    Physical Requirements

    This position requires a person to have the ability to perform work while standing or walking a minimum of eight (8) hours a day, the ability to lift up to 15  pounds on a frequent basis and up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis, and the ability to perform work that is below the knees and above the shoulders on an occasional basis.  This position also requires a person to be capable of performing sustained motion for a minimum of eight (8) hours a day and capable of repetitive motion for up to four (4) hours. 

    PPE Requirements

    This position requires the use of welding jacket, hard hat, fall protection, heat resistant gloves, eye protection and hearing protection. When handling a cutting utensil a cut glove and cut sleeve must be worn per safety requirements. Other required PPE is task specific.

    IAC TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

    An assessment period of (90) ninety calendar days will be established for each employee who is awarded an Electrician job bid. In addition, employees will receive training to perform your job on an on-going basis concurrent with IAC business operations.  Training areas will include safety, quality, continuous improvement and other job specific training that is determined to be an essential part of your job and IAC business operations.
