    COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

    OUR NEED: 

    ICC is looking for a talented Communications Specialist who can serve in a multifaceted capacity within the Communications Department in our corporate office in Silver Spring, MD. This is a full time, in-office position that reports to the Communications Director. ICC seeks a versatile communicator who can work on a wide range of projects in a fast-moving environment. The Communications Specialist will be a strong content creator, writer, and storyteller who can engage audiences in print and online. You should have a general, working knowledge, background, and experience in content creation, writing, editing, design, marketing, public relations, digital media/video, website, and social media. The communications team produces many diverse projects and content for its worldwide audiences including a monthly magazine, weekly videos, podcast, blog, website, social media, and more. As Communications Specialist, you will add depth and breadth to a small but talented team that supports ICC’s efforts to bandage and build the persecuted church through assistance, advocacy, and awareness. 

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

    • Writing/Digital Content Creation 

    • A creative storyteller with the ability to turn stories into video (strong emphasis), blogs, social media, and variety of print materials. 

    • Social Media 

    • Work collaboratively with other content producers 

    • Oversee ICC’s social media footprint across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and more; engage with followers and stakeholders. 

    • Maintain a digital content calendar. 

    • Digital Marketing  

    • Expand the organization’s brand and digital footprint. 

    • Monitor, analyze, and measure our marketing and communications efforts.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

    • A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field. 

    • 3-5 years’ experience in digital marketing, public relations, or journalism; all facets of communications including content creation for print and online mediums. 

    • A strong Christian witness and history.  

    • Ability to quickly create exceptional written content and multitask in a fast-paced environment. 

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.  

    • Work with a team to develop creative marketing and communications campaigns. 

    • U.S. citizenship, permanent residency or work visa is required.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Background working for a nonprofit, ministry, or NGO 

    • Experience with SEO and analytics related to social media. 

    • In depth knowledge/experience of WordPress, InDesign, and Adobe Suite. 

    • Experience in video production including scripting. 

    • A proven professional track record with increasing responsibilities. 

    • Experience with content calendar tools, donor databases, and online marketing platforms.
