    We are looking for an experienced Research Analyst III with solid experience in systematic literature review work , **** to join our team!

    Role

    ICA's Health Technology Assessment (HTA) team supports clients (e.g., federal organizations) in their mission to protect and promote public health by conducting Systematic Reviews (SRs) in a wide variety of clinical content areas. Joining the HTA team is an opportunity to help inform decisions related to pharmacological and medical devices and thus improve the lives and well-being of millions of people.

    ICA is looking for a highly skilled individual with experience in conducting SRs to join us in this quest. The Research Analyst's primary responsibility will be to conduct systematic reviews. Successful candidates will have a strong background in research design and methods from one of the following academic programs at the Master's, or PhD level: social sciences, biostatistics, epidemiology, or a related discipline. Prior experience working in a fast-paced consulting environment is preferred.

    Responsibilities

    The Research Analyst III will lead and conduct systematic reviews, evidence synthesis, and health technology assessment, with minimal supervision. The Research Analyst III is proficient in all stages of the systematic literature review process: refine the research question, assess the project scope, develop the research protocol, screen titles/abstracts and full text articles for inclusion as dictated by the protocol, perform data abstraction, and write the evidence summary. Research Analyst III will keep the Practice Area Lead updated on project progress and will seek out guidance if any problems arise that could cause a report to be delayed. Research Analyst III will revise the final report, as needed, to address feedback from the client.

    Required Skills and Experience

    • Minimum 5 years of experience conducting SRs
    • Masters Degree, or higher in social sciences, epidemiology, biology/chemistry, or other related fields preferred.
    • Ability to shift priorities while contributing to or leading multiple projects
    • Ability to communicate and work with external stakeholders
    • Above average understanding of commonly employed research methodology
    • Strong analytical, critical thinking and communication skills
    • Proficiency in technical/scientific writing and English grammar
    • Knowledge of project management methods and best practices.
    • Strong time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel)
    • Must live in, and be authorized to work in, the United States
    • **Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance (should it be needed for your role)

    Preferred Additional Qualifications

    • Previous experience working and/or collaborating with researchers from federal government agencies whose mission relates to public health (e.g., NIH, CDC, FDA, HRSA, or other HHS agencies). _ ****_
    • Knowledge or experience covering pharmaceutical and health care device safety topics
    • Experience mentoring and teaching research assistants and entry-level research analysts
    • Experience using DistillerSR and EndNote
    • Prior experience working in a fast-paced consulting environment.

    Location and Telework: This position is remote, but our clients are primarily based in the DC-metro area. While we encourage flexible work hours based on location, it is essential that the successful candidate be responsive to client scheduling and team meetings. Occasional travel (< 5% time) to the DC-metro area will be required.
