    YOUTH GAMBLING PREVENTION PROGRAM COORDINATOR

    Looking to be part of an energetic team? The Youth Gambling Prevention Program Coordinator, a Community Health Worker (CHW), is responsible for assisting with the planning and implementing of the Youth Gambling Prevention Program whose focus is centered on increasing youth perception of harm of gambling and increasing their critical thinking skills to navigate pressures to gamble, in conjunction with the staff of the Latino Educational Institute. The Coordinator, using funder-provided curricula, including PhotoVoice, provides education to youth and caregivers in the target population. The Coordinator work with the Director of Prevention & Community Services and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) to evaluate outcomes and measure success. THIS POSITION IS A PART-TIME 20 HOUR/WEEK POSITION.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • BA/BS in public health, human services, social work or a related field is preferred
    • 2 years of experience may be substituted for a degree
    • Experience working with youth in a group setting,  preferably including the provision of trauma-inform programming to youth experiencing multiple risk factors

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Thorough knowledge of construction practices, techniques, materials and related equipment
    • Thorough knowledge of engineering plans, specifications, and drawings
    • Proficient written and verbal communication skills needed for submitting extensive written reports and documentation; construction reports and logs are written and filed daily
    • Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications and to compare them with various aspects of construction in progress, to detect errors in construction projects, establish and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, property owners and associates
    • Must be able to perform specific installation tasks and field measurements
    • Must have basic mathematical skills to assist with measurements and computations of installed quantities
    • Must be able to interpret and implement company mandated safety policies
    • Must have an ability to operate a level and have an understanding of cut and fills and elevations for grades
    • Must be able to operate a computer and computer software related to word processing and spreadsheets
