    It's an exciting time of growth for IFF, we’re inviting a passionate and results driven individual to join our Singapore Flavors Sensory & Consumer Insights division as SENSORY & CONSUMER INSIGHTS RESEARCHER, FLAVORS. 

     

    YOUR FOCUS

    As Sensory & Consumer Insights Researcher, you will report to the Regional Manager SCI, Flavors, GA. You represent the voice of the consumer and help to drive regional sales and win rates, by implementing research designs and effectively managing resources, to ensure we create flavors that consumers love. You will drive and manage sensory and consumer insight projects according to IFF strategy and in coordination with SCI team members.

     

    Managing Sensory and Consumer Insight (SCI) research projects for the Greater Asia Flavors business, you will identify and recommend SCI methodologies for proactive category initiatives and reactive customer projects. Apart from being responsible for providing Sensory and Consumer Insight expertise in the design, execution, analysis, reporting and flavor guidance, you will participate in cross functional regional teams, and on major SCI projects, act as SCI lead.    

     

     

    WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE... 

    Identify and implement SCI methods to match project objectives while understanding the changing consumption habits and taste preferences.

    Generate sensory and consumer data:

    • Be at ease with discriminative and descriptive sensory methods
    • Design quantitative consumer tests
    • Conduct qualitative consumer research (from creating moderator guides to moderating)
    • Comfortable with creative problem solving and projective techniques

    Effectively utilize sensory and consumer data to guide the flavor development process

    Efficiently manage resources (time, budget, workforce, etc.) and competing priorities, delivering daily commercial needs for reactive projects while managing proactive projects.

    Align the prioritization and coordination of SCI activities according to the strategy defined by the Regional Manager SCI Flavors GA.

    Analyze complex consumer and sensory data using statistical models.

    Effectively translate raw data into insights and actionable recommendations that support the development of flavors.

    Interpret sensory and consumer insight findings into impactful presentations

    Present findings to internal stakeholders and customers to guide development and showcase consumer understanding in the flavors developed.

    ABOUT YOU

    To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum experience of 3 – 6 years in sensory and consumer insights related fields. You should have Advanced skills in SCI methodologies and data analysis: training in qualitative research methods, sensory tools and expertise in statistics. 

    A Bachelor Degree in Sensory Science, Food Science, Psychology, Neuroscience, Experimental Psychology or related disciplines from a reputable institute will be essential. 

    You should possess learning agility, creativity, problem solving skills with the drive for results. At the same time lead by influencing others, ensuring relevant support is provided during a time of continuous change and business pressure. You should have good understanding of the business and able to work autonomously on given tasks with minimal reviews by the Director.

    You are proficient statistical programs such as R and Excel Stat.

    You should be comfortable working in a B2B environment with a positive, self-driven or results oriented attitude. Strong teamwork, customer orientation, effective time management skills with proven ability to oversee all assigned projects and meeting deadlines are highly desirable.
