    Job Description

    In this position, the Network Administrator will provide onsite support for our Council Bluffs and Omaha locations that include supporting all users throughout our facilities, including those working remotely. You will report directly to the Director of IT and perform engineering, design, implementation and maintenance tasks on the networking environment. You will be responsible for all helpdesk and desktop support, troubleshooting and resolving complex network problems, and installing hardware such as routers, firewalls, wireless and switches.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Monitor network and system performance and determine whether adjustments need to be made
    • Install, configure and troubleshoot network routers, switches, and security devices
    • Maintain proper licensing and usage of all non-proprietary software
    • Responsible for issuing, providing support of and managing IT equipment for each department
    • Maintain system backup of all files on server and backup system for all users’ working files
    • Maintain VPN remote access service for end-users
    • Maintain users and user permissions for all functions, and Internet services, access, and permissions for approved users
    • Maintain email system for company communications, data collections network and devices
    • Maintain asset lists, network system & system administration logs, disaster recovery & contingency plan
    • Provide direct customer service and support for management, internal users, remote users, software providers, hardware providers, and vendors
    • Provide MDM support upon request and as necessary
    • Setup and manage virtual conference rooms for meetings and presentations upon request and as needed
    • Other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Management information systems (MIS), Computer Science, or a closely related field, is required
    • At least 7 years of experience in IT, with proven ability to provide exceptional customer service and troubleshooting capabilities
    • Experience in designing, setting up, and maintaining LAN operations
    • Working knowledge of UNIX, S.C.O., LINUX, WINDOWS, and Macintosh OS
    • 5 to 7 years Helpdesk and/or Desktop support experience, or Tier 3 Support
    • Working knowledge of Ethernet networks, fibre networks, wireless networks, modems, routers, switches, printers, and all other network devices
    • Preferred Scripting experience in Progress or a related SHELL scripting language
    • Preferred working knowledge of Symix, Syteline, Frontstep, and/or SQL
    • Working knowledge of virtualized servers (Windows Hyper-V and VMware)
    • Working knowledge of virtualized storage system (Hyper-converged systems)
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities
    • Highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently
    • Experience managing or supporting virtual conferencing solutions is a plus
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills using the English language
    • Ability to work well in a diverse environment
    • Must be a US Citizen/Green Card Only (we are unable to sponsor or transfer visas)
    • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time, and lift up to 50 pounds
    • Availability for Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm (on call to support business as required)
