    JOB PROFILE AND DESCRIPTION:

    IGF’s Purchasing Manager will be responsible for implementing an efficient inventory management tracking system to facilitate timely orders and product deliveries to IGF. The Purchasing Manager will address any supply chain issues and inventory irregularities (such as excess inventory or short-code inventory) and develop best practices, monitor compliance to IGF’s processes, and ensure consistency of service and product knowledge across all buyers.

     

    The ideal candidate must be able to multitask multiple assignments under tight deadlines and work with suppliers, buyers, sales reps, and warehouse staff to address any product and inventory issues in a timely and cost-effective method, as well as problem solve issues as they arise. They will coach their purchasing team to promote superior customer service and product knowledge to meet IGF’s top-tier performance standards and establish positive and strong business relationships.

     

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Essential to the success of IGF’s Purchasing Manager includes, but is not limited to, the following key duties and responsibilities:

     

    · Developing, implementing, and monitoring an effective inventory tracking system to monitor product levels and facilitate special orders and requests.

    · Identifying opportunities for process and inventory management improvements and initiating strategies to implement such improvements.

    · Establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.

    · Managing buyers in the generation of accurate and timely purchase orders and ensuring that replenishment system variables (tie & hi, lead time, case cube & weight, etc.) are correct.

    · Serving as a buyer on an as needed basis to fulfill special requests or cover buyer vacations or absences, ensuring that all orders are given consistent, timely attention.

    · Addressing large, seasonal, or unique/special packaging shipments and requests, as well as any supply chain issues.

    · Assist in sourcing and setting up product inquiries or notify sales reps of the inability to source in a timely manner

    · Lead and motivate the purchasing team through the creation and implementation of best practices, training workshops, and effective communications.

    · Communicating order and inventory statuses with internal and external clients

    · Ensuring consistency across all buyers regarding product knowledge, superior customer service, and IGF compliance.

    · Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.

    · Fluency of Ideas: The ability to come up with several ideas about a topic

    · Oral Comprehension and Expression: The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented, and to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.

     

    TARGETS & GOALS

    1. Improve our out of stock – less than 1% must be maintained

    a. Major selling point of IGF compared to competition

    1. Must increase turns

    2. Must communicate and work with other departments to resolve issue(s) that are negatively affecting our core values and mission statement

    3. Must update item card and Navision to assist in the success of the company

    a. Work wisely (smarter not harder)

    1. Ensure all orders are entered into the system by 1 pm

    2. Address out of stock and close to out of stock first thing in the morning

    3. Train the staff to analyze data to assess operational or project effectiveness.
