    Our client, a leading manufacturer of durable medical equipment, is seeking a motivated and experienced International Logistics & Trade Compliance Manager.

    This role is responsible for overseeing the efficient and compliant movement of goods across international borders.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both international and domestic shipping, customs compliance, and supply chain management. This position ensures adherence to global trade regulations, optimizes logistics operations, and manages relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and regulatory agencies.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage import and export transportation while ensuring compliance with customs regulations.
    • Lead the international shipping and documentation process, including product availability, timely processing, customs documentation, freight arrangements, tracking, communication, and customer follow-up.
    • Deliver on international shipping goals and key performance indicators (KPIs)
    • Coordinate with international suppliers for timely freight pickup, adherence to Incoterms, and freight arrangements.
    • Educate and train internal and external stakeholders on international shipping processes, documentation, and compliance requirements.
    • Participate in cross-functional projects to support global logistics and trade initiatives.
    • Provide subject matter expertise on regulatory requirements and conduct cost-benefit analyses for new ventures.
    • Consolidate domestic orders for export, ensuring accurate documentation, valuation, and classification.
    • Provide quick comparisons of multi-modal international freight options.
    • Manage third-party logistics providers, freight forwarders, steamship lines, and carrier relationships.
    • Oversee the creation and distribution of bid proposals, contracts, pricing negotiations, and service provider selection.
    • Develop and maintain monthly operational reports and KPIs to drive performance and accountability.
    • Coordinate with suppliers and warehouse teams to schedule container loading and unloading.
    • Monitor and manage freight costs, spending, and recovery with strong financial acumen.
    • Lead an integrated freight program across all North American subsidiaries while supporting local operational needs.
    • Conduct corporate audits of international transportation and ensure procedural compliance.
    • Collaborate with legal counsel on trade compliance matters.
    • Provide day-to-day support on compliance requirements across the business.
    • Develop and utilize performance metrics (KPIs) for reporting, continuous improvement, and measurable gains in freight, compliance, cost, and service.
    • Participate in relevant industry associations.
    • Ensure all required training is identified and completed by direct reports.
    • Evaluate staffing needs and costs; recruit, hire, and promote individuals with the necessary skills and competencies.
    • Foster a team environment that values diversity and leverages individual strengths.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in international logistics.
    • Extensive knowledge of product classification, country of origin, free trade agreements, and tariffs.
    • Proven leadership, project management, and team-building skills.
    • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Strong cross-cultural communication and influence skills within a global organization.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver engaging presentations.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; solutions-oriented mindset.
    • Adaptability to rapidly changing business environments.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle and/or SAP is a plus.
