    Position Summary
    The International Tax Manager will oversee international tax compliance and consulting engagements for a diverse client base, including multinational corporations, inbound and outbound investors, and closely held businesses with cross-border operations. This role requires strong technical expertise in international tax law, engagement management skills, and the ability to mentor and develop staff while serving as a trusted advisor to clients.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage international tax compliance engagements, including preparation and review of Forms 5471, 5472, 8865, 8858, 1118, and related international disclosures
    • Advise clients on cross-border tax planning matters, including GILTI, Subpart F, FDII, BEAT, foreign tax credits, and transfer pricing considerations
    • Manage engagements involving inbound and outbound international structuring, including entity formation, repatriation strategies, and treaty analysis
    • Research and analyze complex international tax issues, preparing technical memoranda and client-ready deliverables
    • Review work prepared by staff and senior associates, providing coaching, technical guidance, and constructive feedback
    • Manage client relationships, serving as a primary point of contact for international tax matters and identifying opportunities for additional services
    • Coordinate with international member firms or affiliate offices on cross-border engagements as needed
    • Monitor changes in US and foreign tax law, treaties, and regulations, assessing impact on client engagements
    • Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and staffing, ensuring efficient and profitable engagement delivery
    • Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and participation in networking and firm marketing initiatives
    • Assist with IRS examinations and notices related to international tax matters
    • Contribute to firm training programs and technical development of international tax staff

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master's in Taxation or LLM in Taxation preferred
    • CPA or JD required
    • 5-8+ years of progressive tax experience, with a strong focus on international tax within public accounting
    • Strong technical knowledge of US international tax law, including GILTI, Subpart F, FDII, BEAT, foreign tax credits, and transfer pricing principles
    • Experience managing international tax compliance engagements and related informational reporting forms
    • Prior experience supervising and developing staff and senior associates
    • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly to clients and colleagues
    • Proficiency with tax research software (BNA, CCH, Checkpoint) and tax preparation software (GoSystem, CCH Axcess, or similar)
    • Excellent client relationship management and business development skills

    Preferred Attributes

    • Big 4 or national/regional public accounting firm background
    • Experience with transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements
    • Foreign language proficiency a plus
    • Track record of contributing to business development and growing a book of business

    $165,000 per year
