    Job Description

    Overview:

    Are you an early- to mid-career subject matter expert with deep insight into U.S. industry sectors, trade policy, or supply chain resilience? I&A is seeking Subject Matter Experts to support key missions across its eight divisions — from travel and tourism to manufacturing and trade analytics.

    This role is ideal for professionals with 5–15 years of specialized experience in areas such as economic policy, industry competitiveness, trade law, communications strategy, or global market access.

    Example Focus Areas (Divisional Alignment):

    • Manufacturing : Industry analysis and advocacy for U.S. manufacturers in the global market

    • Services : Barriers to trade in services, investment policy, and export promotion

    • Supply Chain Center : Data-informed risk assessments and resilience strategies for critical supply chains

    • Travel & Tourism: Strategies to grow U.S. tourism exports and related economic development

    • Trade Policy & Analysis: Economic research, modeling, and visualizations to inform decision-makers

    • Textiles, Consumer Goods & Materials: Trade enforcement, preference programs, and competitiveness support

    • Industry Engagement : Strategic partnerships, digital communications, and external intelligence

    • Trade Agreements Secretariat : Support the fair, impartial administration of FTA dispute settlement mechanisms

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support research and policy development within one or more of I&A’s eight divisions

    • Develop briefings, dashboards, reports, or white papers for senior leadership

    • Provide expert recommendations based on sector knowledge and trade/economic analysis

    • Support stakeholder engagement strategies, strategic communications, or advisory committee operations

    • Analyze data to track market trends, competitiveness challenges, or regulatory impacts

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree, depending on level:

      • SME I : Associate’s + 5 years’ experience

      • SME II : Bachelor’s + 10 years

      • SME III : Master’s + 15 years

    • Specialized experience in fields such as:

      • Industry economics, manufacturing, services, supply chains

      • Trade law, trade agreements, or dispute resolution

      • Market research, business strategy, or public-private partnership development

      • Strategic communications or advisory committee facilitation

    • Strong analytical and communication skills
