    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    This position is part of the Global Medical Sales Team that is focused on Supporting technical sales of Mechatronic Products primarily for the Medical Industry but with opportunities in the other Interplex markets as well. It will support the sales effort with technical and proposal assistance and quoting new products to meet customer specifications. The primary function is to Manage and support the development of the Medical Product line for new business opportunities with a focus on developing products with critical mechatronic electrical connections that incorporate and expand on Interplex’s existing core competencies which include highly sophisticated lead frame stampings insert-molded into complex plastic housings and medical devices. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with customers and supporting Business Development, Program Management, and Engineering. This candidate should also enjoy the development process through a combination of mechanical, electrical and electronic technologies that depend on his/her high degree of development capabilities. It requires sales or business development experience in a highly regulated environment such as medical, automotive or military along with experience with electromechanical assemblies and quoting. Typical market segments would include surgical, including robotic surgery, diagnostics, patient monitoring, therapeutic and drug delivery. The emphasis of this position will be on the development of new products both driven by internal specifications as well as external customer requirements including, development, and project management in a high-paced, results driven environment. Ideally this person would have experience in Medical Device or Interconnect Sales, business development or program management with experience in stamping, injection molding, interconnect (including connector and cables), and experience supporting products through an ISO-13485 regulated environment.

     

    JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Promote strategic growth of Interplex Medical products and capabilities

    • Create strategic roadmaps for the medical product line

    • Review New Request For Quote (NRFQ) packages from customers, and create internal documentation to support the opportunity through the NPI quoting and NPI development processes

    • Identify required capabilities and competencies at sites and any gaps to be addressed to be successful on each NRFQ

    • Liaise with Engineering, Sales and Business Development to create Cost Workbooks for new NPI programs by determining component cost, manufacturing processes, time studies and acceptable margins and best practices

    • Review internal and customer drawings to create a Bill of Materials (BOM) and define the scope of the project

    • Create and maintain internal Scope of Work (SOW) documentation

    • Manage RFQ packages through the quoting process, schedule meetings and ensure the project quote timelines are met

    •Manage and maintain Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) for each RFQ

    • Liaise with new and existing suppliers in submitting quote packages and getting quotes for NPI/Sustaining projects

    • Create costing sheets and cost models for quoting including managing COGS, P+L and GM% for the medical product line.

    • Manage and update BOMs, suppliers and costs through the NPI process and aid in the transfer to operations when applicable

    • Help to maintain Approved Vendor List (AVL) for each of Interplex Medical’s product lines

    • Develop and maintain approved supplier capability and cost tracking system to quickly identify optimal suppliers

    • Create and manage NPI quotes and track data related to quotations, won and lost opportunities, and reasons for opportunities lost

    • Responsible for managing internal NPI programs for standard product(s) including acting as a program manager for those programs to maintain timeline

     

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • 0 - 2 years’ experience in a technical sales, business development, product/program management or manufacturing in a regulated field

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent field

    • Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings and CAD Models

    • Ability to negotiate pricing, terms, and part delivery with suppliers

    • Experience with Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project

    • Proficient in Excel (will need to demonstrate capabilities)

    • Ability to review and analyze data sets, market trends and RFQ trends

     

     

    PREFERRED:

    • Technical understanding of stamped, drawn, extruded, machined (milling, turning, EDM, etc.), injection mold and manual assembly manufacturing processes

    • Experience with ERP and CRM systems

    • SolidWorks Experience

    • ISO 13485 Regulatory Field Experience
