HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER
Intersign Corporation is one of the premier national signage and visual solutions companies that primarily focuses on serving the hospitality, healthcare and restaurant/beverage markets. We support numerous Fortune 500 clients including Coke, Marriott Hotels, Hilton Hotels, IHG, Dick’s Sporting Goods, etc. Intersign currently employs approximately 180 professionals/artisans in Chattanooga, TN and Springboro, Ohio. Intersign also has sales professionals that are based across the United States including, among other states, Florida, Mississippi, Kansas and the District of Columbia.
Intersign is seeking to hire a progressive and forward-thinking Human Resource Manager with outstanding administrative and communication skills. This person must be able to work effectively with management, employees and with numerous third parties including state taxing authorities, benefits specialists, payroll processing partners,etc. It is imperative that this person be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment, and have the ability to multi-task effectively.
The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Hiring and recruiting at all levels, including managing ads across various recruiting platforms, setting up interviews, participating in candidate assessment and selection and onboarding. This person should ensure that all federal and state laws in regards to hiring/interviewing are followed accordingly.
- Work collaboratively with senior management on future projects including the execution and follow up on employee engagement surveys, performance management projects, “Teambuilding” and other projects as it relates to continually improving the Intersign “Culture” via employee engagement.
- Analyze and complete wage and salary structure for all positions to recommend the ranges of pay and benefits to keep Intersign competitive with similar local/regional companies.
- Consults with legal council to ensure that our policies comply with federal and state law that affect HR functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. These include FMLA, ADA, OSHA, FSLA & DOL.
- Manages and oversees benefit plans including Health/Dental, LT/ST Disability, Life Ins., 401K, vacation/sick pay, workers comp, tuition reimbursement, etc.
- Support all employees/artisans with his/her concerns and quickly resolve employee issues as required.
- Ensure that all personnel files are properly maintained, secured and in compliance with all laws and regulations.
The candidate should, at a minimum, possess the following skills and attributes:
- 2-5 year’s experience in an HR/managerial environment
- Superb written and verbal communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Complete understanding of current HR laws, policies and regulations
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft and Mac based computer applications – Excel, Word
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the HR Manager can expect to be sitting one (1) to four (4) hour stretches, standing, and ability to lift 20 pounds occasionally. The HR Manager is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch; and communicate verbally and written. These physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by this position to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
