Intersport is operating in an indefinite work-from-home status until the effects of COVID-19 are deemed controlled and full-time in-person presence in an office setting is considered safe by the proper authorities. This person hired for this position can work remotely for the indefinite future but once the virus is controlled this person must be based in Chicago, IL or New York, NY.
OVERVIEW
Intersport, a leader in sports, entertainment, and lifestyle marketing and media for over three decades, provides expertise in the areas of:
- Agency Services: sponsorship consulting, experiential marketing, content marketing, and hospitality
- Properties: owned-and-operated media properties, and live sports and lifestyle properties
Intersport is seeking an Account Executive (AE) to work collaboratively with our Agency Services team to provide seamless management and execution on a months-long multi-stop experiential marketing tour. THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION LASTING APPROXIMATELY SIX (6) MONTHS. THE ABILITY FOR THE AE TO STAY ON IN A PERMANENT POSITION DEPENDS ON THEIR EFFECTIVENESS ALONG WITH FUTURE BUSINESS/CLIENT DEMAND. The AE is responsible for all aspects of event management and execution for the client and ensures that quality work is provided in a high-quality, timely, cost effective manner. RESPONSIBILITIES
General
- Embodies and reflects Intersport’s performance-based culture and commits him/herself and team to the highest standards
- Works effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver executional excellence
- Maintain a current understanding of event activation and hospitality industry trends across sports, culinary, travel & leisure, and entertainment
Program & Project Management
- Creates and maintains administrative documents in a clear, concise and detailed manner for client and agency backup including points of view, recaps, reporting, agendas, and timelines
Client Management & Communication
- Demonstrates an understanding and a passion for his/her clients’ industry, business, consumer and brands
- Establishing himself/herself as a trusted strategic business partner to the client
- Demonstrates leadership and presence in meetings and client interaction, both calls and on-site
- Manages program-related budgets
Event Planning
- Manages numerous projects simultaneously ranging from planning, to production, to logistics
- Conduct pre-planning management and implementation for events including: Venue and vendor research, outreach and engagement, and event-related communications
- Manages venue and vendor relationships, including contracts, payments, and oversight of the deliverable and quality of work
- Leads the sourcing and inventory management of premiums, signage and event materials
- Accountable for managing legal process such as Contract Administration and Letters of Authorization, where appropriate
Event Execution
- Provides hands-on at-event on-site presence and oversight, leading event execution, training, troubleshooting and reporting
- Commits to extensive travel and evening/weekend work is required on trips typically lasting between three to four days weekly, for numerous consecutive weeks, depending on the program
Reporting and Analysis
- Analyzes and evaluates individual program metrics to contributes to program debriefings
- Creates timely post-event/program reports and provides timely updates
- Works with internal account team to adapt programming with brand, consumer, and in-market learnings
Budget & Financial Management
- Supports management of program budgets to achieve client needs and remain on targeted budget
- Provides clear, timely and accurate financial reporting (e.g. invoicing, reconciliation, etc.)
Team Management
- Works collaboratively with all members of integrated team
- Helps train/provide feedback to junior team members and manage on-site event staff/brand ambassadors
QUALIFICATIONS
- Two (2) to three (3) years of relative experience at an agency or related organization with event planning and execution responsibilities
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the event and experiential marketing landscape and related processes
- Ability to manage multiple programs/projects concurrently, inclusive of a detail oriented and organized approach
- Application of superior prioritization and time-management skills
- Ability to produce high quality work at a demanding pace
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proactive, team player with a strong work ethic
- Previous experience with daily contact with clients and support teams
- Exemplary written and oral communication skills
- Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Word; proficiency in Excel
- Ability to travel for business on trips typically lasting anywhere between three to four days weekly, for numerous consecutive weeks, depending on the program
