We currently have the opportunity to add a new Maintenance Tech to our team and we're looking to find the right team member to make a positive impact on our managed properties and the community.

    The Maintenance Technician will attend to work orders and scheduled maintenance assignments for our urban office and retail portfolio in the Portland metro area and report to the Lead Engineer as well as the respective Real Estate Manager. Must be a resourceful team player with a common sense positive attitude who takes pride in their work and cares about others.

    The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for multiple locations requiring varying levels of travel in the Portland metro area depending on assignments.

    SUPERVISOR

    The Maintenance Technician reports to the Lead Engineer.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS ADMINISTRATIVE AND FINANCIAL

    Basic knowledge of computers and use of smart phone required

    Basic math ability required

    DAY TO DAY DUTIES/EXPECTATION

    Inspecting & troubleshooting various maintenance issues

    Proactively inspect properties, identify concerns and take ownership to ensure property(s) are kept in good working condition with excellent curb appeal

    Assist real estate manager in developing maintenance schedules for specific properties

    Locating and purchasing parts/materials for repairs

    Light record keeping of maintenance & inventories

    Lightbulb replacements & maintenance

    Plumbing repairs (sinks, faucets, toilets)

    HVAC troubleshooting and low-level repairs

    Graffiti removal

    Respond to fire alarms and address trouble signals

    Roof cleaning & light repairs

    Emergency response during the business day and after-hours (occasionally)

    Pressure washing, drain clearing and water pumping

    Door adjustments, handle set replacements, keys

    Painting, light carpentry

    Proactively identify repairs and take action

    Report liability concerns and capital needs to the real estate manager

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    High school diploma

    Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience required

    Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial building setting preferred

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    Must wear uniform provided but will need to have suitable work boots

    Ability to lift, pull, push, grasp, stoop, kneel down, see, feel and communicate well

    Must be able to lift 50 lbs which may be required repetitively from time to time.

    Excellent communication skills (both with co-workers and customers)

    Ability to manage tasks independently and make decisions under pressure

    Understanding of HVAC and troubleshooting preferred

    Carpentry skills preferred

    Mechanical aptitude required

    Must have a current driver's license, vehicle and clean driving record. Mileage and parking is reimbursed.
