We are seeking an Interventional Radiology (IR) Physician to support the Veteran community in the San Antonio, TX area. This position is open to all candidates, including Locum or Traveling professionals.

    Position Highlights:

    • Logistics:
      • Starting Pay: +$150.00 an hour.
      • Contract Type: 1 base year with 4, 1-year option periods
      • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., CT
      • Location: San Antonio, TX
    • Requirements: * Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship. * Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. * Board Certified per the American Board of Radiology (ABR). Dual board certification in Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Radiology (IR/DR). * Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. * Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). * Previous experience with the VA is a plus.

    What does a typical day look like for the Interventional Radiology (IR) Physician?

    You will:

    • Schedule:
      • Normal clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., CT.
      • On-call and call-back coverage when the facility clinic is closed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    • Direct Patient Care: Estimated 90% of the time is involved in direct patient care:
      • Direct patient care procedures
      • Attend scheduled clinics
      • Provide notification of test results
      • Provide consultation with and instruction to referring physicians regarding appropriate indications for Interventional radiologic procedures
      • Determine the appropriate course of treatment and communicate in person or by phone with the referring clinicians.
    • Non-Direct Patient Care: Estimated 10% of time not involved in direct patient:
      • Quality Improvement Meetings
      • Staff Meetings
      • Peer Reviews
      • Specialized Meetings
      • QA/QI documentation
      • Patient Safety Compliance and Reporting

    What qualifications do you look for?

    You might be the professional we're looking for if you have:

    • Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
    • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
    • Board Certified per the American Board of Radiology (ABR). Dual board certification in Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Radiology (IR/DR).
    • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
    • Previous experience with the VA is a plus.

    If selected, candidates will need to complete credentialing and onboarding requirements consistent with VA medical staff processes.
