Intra-American Metals, Inc. (INTRAMETCO) is a physical commodity trader of primary, secondary non-ferrous and ferrous metals. Based in Noblesville, Indiana, we conduct business around the globe using the strong relationships we have established.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant-Controller position will interface with most all levels of the business but focus on export and domestic ferrous. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter who can make significant contributions to the organization. Candidates should have exceptional communication, logic, analytical as well as problem solving skills and be a quick thinker who has the ability to multi-task. Candidate will be a team player with a flexible work attitude. Must be proficient with excel, accounting and documentation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (including but not limited to)
- Prepare/handle all export documents
- Daily monitoring of contracts/market positions
- Record keeping of daily shipments
- Track, trace all export – arrange bookings for contracts
- Waybills/BOL understanding. AP & AR invoicing
- Submitting material for invoicing while observing/maintaining various payment terms.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Associates degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field.
- Ability to multi-task and complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner in a fast paced environment.
- Solid interpersonal skills to work with direct vendors and clients at all levels of an organization.
- Possesses the ability to assist management to develop initiatives to improve the business.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and utilize critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills.
- On the job proficiency using MS Excel, report and administer large amounts of data.
- Working conceptual knowledge of databases.
- Must have a team oriented philosophy in accomplishing department goals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stay organized while working on multiple projects.
- Proactively identifies opportunities to impact the business related to transportation and logistics concepts.
- Manage inventory via data base
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting/Finance or related field.
- Prior experience as a reporting and/or analytics professional.
- Professional certification such MS Office Specialist or related certification.
- 3-5 years of logistics/shipping and/or accounting experience preferably in physical commodity handling or industry specific.
- Knowledge of INCOTERMS, over-the-road, intermodal helpful
