As an IT Java Developer (Java Developer / Backend), you will:
Analytical skills - understanding the business task first before we kick off with design and development.
Initiative & Ownership - we want someone who can run with the task and see it through completion, whether it be doing analysis around the ask or testing the app along with other tech teams.
Follow and add to our defined architecture, technology standards, and best practices for applications, middleware, and databases for development.
Work with the team and architect to design, prototyping and delivery of software solutions, helping manage the technical environment (software, data, interfaces, integration), researching new tools and technologies, and help with developing better analytics solutions.
Participate in code reviews and aid in debugging, while continuing to contribute directly to the success of the project deliverables.
7+ years’ experience.
Key Qualifications:
Looking for Java Developers (Back end heavy, but full stack would be a plus)
Java/Spring Boot/Microservices/API
Angular is a big plus but not required.
Must be strong in Object Oriented Programming
Must have very good initiative – someone who steps up and finds problems to solve
80-90% of their work will be working on Jira’s (writing code, understanding requirements, deliver)
They are using Docker to containerize – Must have.
Client is using MQ for messaging.
Any knowledge/experience in derivatives/markets/trading is a HUGE plus but not required.
Someone who is very eager, takes strong initiative to get things done – That is who is going to get hired here. They MUST display this in the interview for this manager.
