University Hiring Program Eligibility Requirements:

• University Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in and returning to an accredited degree-seeking academic program in the Fall.
• Internship Work Period: Must be available to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) during a 10-12 week period starting May or June. Specific start dates are shared during the recruiting process.

Primary Function of Position:

We're looking for a proficient 3D Artist, who can create 3D visualizations of our hardware products in a range of photorealistic, clinical environments. Your primary output will be photorealistic renders, short 3D product animations, and possible visual effects enhancements to our brand media films.

The ability to work both internal and external teams is a must, so the right person will have an implicit understanding of the balance needed between artistry, communication, and partnership.

The ideal internship candidate will be accomplished in working with a variety of 2D and 3D software packages and demonstrate the ability to raise the quality bar in lighting and composition of our minimally invasive platforms. For example, you might be able to fine tune a shaded 3D environment into a photorealistic image.  The right candidate will be comfortable working in a collaborative team environment and also working solo. Regardless, we expect you’ll be continually raising the bar on quality.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• The intern will create and retouch 3D assets and materials for use in web-based, real-time applications, and photorealistic renderings
• Maintain consistently high standards for accuracy, aesthetics, and productivity
• Share best practices, identify process improvements and operational waste reduction

Qualifications

Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

• Current enrollment in a Visual Effects, Motion Media design, or Photography degree-seeking program at the Bachelor’s level
• Must demonstrate an understanding of technical art production and end-to-end modeling, UV unwrapping, texturing, and rendering workflows
• Must be very well versed in the Adobe Creative Suite, Maya, Redshifit, and other 3D tools
• Highly proficient in rendering and retouching 3D renders to accentuate photo-realism
• Passionate about product visualization
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Experience with product photography and lighting
• Have experience with tile-able material and texture creation
• Be able to excel in a fast-paced collaborative production environment
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
