  • Responsibilities

    INVARIANT, a bipartisan government relations and communications firm, seeks a COORDINATOR, GOVERNMENT RELATIONS, to join our growing team. You will work directly with one of our principal lobbyists serving as a strategic partner and force multiplier – helping the principal do her best work.  You'll work with our lobbyists to gain valuable insights into the policy-making process and develop your network on the Hill and around the city.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    • Serve as a liaison between the principal, clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
    • Schedule and manage the principal's calendar and coordinate meeting preparation to meet organizational priorities, goals, and objectives.
    • Act as an air traffic controller to triage the principal's workflow.
    • Manage and draft emails, correspondence, and documents.
    • Coordinate meetings on behalf of clients with federal policymakers, external stakeholders, and others.
    • Support business development efforts, fundraising, and social events.

     WHO YOU ARE

    • 12-18 months of experience, preferably on Capitol Hill, with demonstrated familiarity with the federal legislative process, federal agencies, and relevant third parties and associations.
    • You have strong project management skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines with a focus on detail and precision.
    • Comfortable and adaptive when working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
    • Solid communication skills and ability to manage both up and down.
    • Goal-oriented team player focused on adding value, deepening knowledge, and increasing efficiencies.
    • Proactive and creative.
    • Fun person with a good sense of humor.
