    About the Role

    We are seeking a Staff Inventory Accountan t to support and own inventory accounting for our business, including inventory produced through third-party fabrication partners. This role will help establish scalable inventory processes as the company grows. Additionally, this role will help lay the groundwork for future operational expansion, including potential manufacturing capabilities. They will work cross-functionally with Accounting, Operations, Engineering and externally. This role is an in office role, in San Antonio, Texas, with typical working hours 8 am - 4 pm.

    **Role and Responsibilities **

    Inventory Accounting & Costing

    • Maintain accurate inventory valuation for purchased and fabricated inventory
    • Ensure fabrication charges, freight, and other landed costs are properly capitalized
    • Support accurate and timely COGS recognition
    • Analyze inventory-related variances and gross margin fluctuations

    Third-Party Fabrication & Vendor Inventory

    • Track inventory sent to and received from third-party fabricators
    • Reconcile vendor fabrication invoices to purchase orders and receipts
    • Monitor yield, scrap, and rework variances and ensure appropriate accounting treatment

    NetSuite & Systems Support

    • Support NetSuite ERP implementation and ongoing inventory setup
    • Maintain inventory items, locations, and costing configurations in NetSuite
    • Ensure inventory transactions are recorded accurately and consistently
    • Perform monthly inventory subledger to general ledger reconciliations

    Inventory Controls & Counts

    • Support cycle count programs and physical inventory counts
    • Investigate inventory discrepancies and post adjustments as needed
    • Help maintain strong internal controls around inventory movements

    Close, Reporting & Audit Support

    • Prepare monthly inventory roll forwards and related journal entries
    • Assist with inventory reserves for slow-moving or obsolete inventory
    • Provide inventory support for internal and external audits

    Process & Scalability

    • Document inventory accounting procedures and best practices
    • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to improve inventory accuracy
    • Help build processes that can scale as new fabricators or product lines are added

    Core Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    • 2–5+ years of accounting experience with inventory exposure
    • Experience in distribution, logistics, or outsourced manufacturing environments
    • ERP experience required; NetSuite preferred
    • Working knowledge of inventory accounting, COGS, and GAAP
    • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
    • Comfortable working cross-functionally with operations and vendors
    • Hands-on, proactive, and ownership-oriented
    • Process-minded with interest in systems and ERP
    • Able to thrive in a growing, evolving environment

    Details

    • The starting compensation range for this position is $80,000 – 95,000 USD and will be determined based upon a candidate's experience and location.
    • The typical working hours for this position are 8 am – 4 pm CST.
    • This job position is exempt to overtime as determined by the FLSA standards.
    • Travel is expected for this position up to 15%, which is anticipated to be occasionally overnight in several domestic locations. International travel may be required in the future depending on business needs.
