The Inventory Control Manager is to oversee and optimize our inventory management processes. In this role, you will manage all aspects of inventory, from ordering and storage to distribution and reporting. You will also be responsible for setting and enforcing policies to maintain accurate stock levels, ensuring inventory accuracy, and minimizing costs. Your focus on efficiency, accuracy, and team leadership will help support the company’s overall supply chain and operational goals. Three Direct Reports include one Inventory Analyst and two Material Handlers. Responsibilities: Supervisory Responsibilities: • Yes. Duties/Responsibilities: Inventory Management & Accuracy • Oversee daily inventory operations, storage, kitting, and distribution. • Ensure accurate stock levels are maintained through regular audits and cycle counts. • Develop, document, and enforce inventory processes, policies, and procedures. • Reconcile counts, perform root cause analysis, and trend. • Track errors and report information for management review. • Establish and review ABC classifications annually or at Management’s direction. • Create and maintain an organized and secure warehouse layout and storage system that supports efficient material flow and traceability. Inventory Control Systems & Reporting • Maintain and optimize inventory control via Syteline ERP oversight to enhance tracking and accuracy. • Oversee inventory analytics reporting to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement. • Use data-driven insights to support decisions that optimize inventory levels and reduce costs. • Collaborate with finance, outside auditors, and other functional areas as needed to review and maintain a robust inventory control process. Supplier & Vendor Coordination • Resolve high-level (elevated) issues with suppliers regarding delivery discrepancies, damaged goods, or returns. • Work with procurement to ensure alignment with inventory needs. Cost Management & Reduction • Implement cost-saving measures without compromising on quality or stock availability. • Monitor and reduce excess or obsolete inventory and establish effective stock rotation methods. • Track and report inventory holding costs, making recommendations to minimize these expenses. Team Leadership & Training • Supervise and train inventory staff, fostering a high-performance team culture. • Develop and maintain a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment. • Lead team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and improvements in processes. Qualifications: Required Skills/Abilities: • Strong knowledge of inventory management software (e.g., MRP systems). • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on training and development. • Essential mathematical and statistical analysis skills. Success Indicators: • Production floor consistently supplied with accurate kits on time. • Consistent achievement of accurate inventory records and levels. • Reduction in inventory discrepancies and waste through efficient management practices. • Timely and cost-effective inventory replenishment that supports operational goals. Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience). • Proven experience in inventory management, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role. • Experience establishing an Inventory Management System (IMS) with strong visual management. • Certification in inventory management (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is a plus. • Experience working in manufacturing is preferred. • Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement is a plus. Physical Requirements: • Able to sit, stand, walk, and lift for long periods of time. • Able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25+ pounds.
