Job Description

This position manages all activities related to QC and inventory control within the warehouse environment. Their main objective is to ensure that all materials are properly stored and that accurate and appropriate levels of inventory are maintained in order to meet customer demands. The QC responsibilities include inspecting all inbound and outbound product to ensure that company quality and dating standards are met. This position will work closely with the receiving group to identify any quality issues with incoming product and take the appropriate action. QC will also work closely with the purchasing department to resolve quality issues.

Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibities ( any combination of the following job duties) :

Quality Control:

• Walk the warehouse and cold rooms (including the freezer) multiple times daily, inspecting the overall quality of ALL inventories in the facility. This includes opening cases, checking receiving dates, and proper case rotation in the pick slots.
• Work with Warehouse staff to check back stock products on upper- tier racking
• Work with Sales and Buying departments to recommend movement of product to the Repack Department and/or clearance.
• Work closely with Buyers, QA, and Operations to communicate needs and opportunities
• Participate in internal and external Quality audits
• Report to management on quality and food safety issues and trends

Inventory Management

• Monitor physical inventory ensuring all pick slots are checked daily
• Record shortages, lack of movement, age, and visual quality of inventory
• Report physical inventory to the Buyers and GM and update system accuracy
• Communicate concerns and opportunities to Sales and Buying department
• Manage expiration, dating, and product rotation
• Achieve target shrink goals
• Provide SKU rationalization recommendations
