Inventory Control Specialist

Pay: $19.25/hour
Schedule: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Days: Monday–Friday
Availability: Must be available to work overtime and weekends as needed

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Inventory Control Specialist to join our Production Team. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating inventory control activities, processing material transactions, and supporting efficient warehouse and production operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards for safety, accuracy, productivity, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records using various inventory control systems.
• Operate material-handling equipment safely and efficiently, including sit-down or stand-up forklifts, scissor lifts, and pallet jacks.
• Match purchase orders with packing slips and accurately enter receiving and material information into the appropriate systems.
• Perform cycle counts and make necessary inventory adjustments based on physical inventory results.
• Process inventory price changes and corrections as needed.
• Match receiving documentation with T-bills and assist with month-end inventory closing activities.
• Maintain records of materials received but not yet T-billed and provide reports to the Accounting Department.
• Release base-stock materials from SRC systems to fulfill customer orders.
• Communicate obsolete inventory information to the Sales Department.
• Process material requisitions received by Inventory Control and coordinate with the staging area for material pulls.
• Verify completed requisitions and post transactions to the inventory system as needed.
• Transfer materials between inventory locations and generate inventory reports as required.
• Prepare special inventory reports for designated customers and maintain accurate receiving logs.
• Maintain Pic n Pac logs and coordinate routes and orders with the warehouse.
• Monitor out-of-stock reports and release back orders as inventory becomes available.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records related to inventory transactions.
• Work closely with Production, Warehouse, Accounting, Sales, and other departments to ensure inventory accuracy and timely material flow.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous inventory control, warehouse, receiving, or material-handling experience preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred; ability to safely operate various material-handling equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory management systems.
• Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, packing slips, and inventory documentation.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production or warehouse environment.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.
