Operations Manager
The Inventory Specialist owns inventory accuracy and parts availability. This role ensures we consistently have the right parts on hand to support repairs, maintains reliable inventory data inventory tracking system, tracks and dispositions damaged parts, and reduces downtime caused by “waiting on parts” through forecasting and proactive replenishment planning in partnership with Logistics and Operations.
This position also requires a hands-on, technical mindset, including the ability to safely disassemble Chromebooks, handle internal components (e.g., motherboards, screens, batteries), and correctly identify, sort, and stage parts for reuse, repair, or disposition
• Perform inventory counts and periodic full physical inventories; reconcile variances and document root cause.
• Maintain bin/location accuracy through audits and corrective actions (re-slotting, relabeling, cleanup).
• Ensure inventory is stored and labeled according to established standards (FIFO/FEFO as applicable).
• Monitor on-hand levels and minimum/maximum thresholds; flag low stock, overstock, and slow moving items.
• Coordinate with operations/sales on reorder needs and timing to support service levels.
• Identify, tag, and segregate damaged/defective parts and ensure proper disposition (return to vendor, scrap, or repair).
• Maintain accurate records of damaged parts, including reason codes and quantity/value impact when applicable.
• Support RMA/returns processes by documenting issues, packaging, and tracking outbound/inbound statuses.
• Verify received parts against packing slips/POs; resolve discrepancies and communicate issues.
• Complete inventory transactions in the system (receipts, transfers, adjustments, issues, returns).
• Use RF scanners/barcoding tools where applicable to maintain transaction accuracy.
• Recommend and implement improvements to inventory control processes to reduce variance and improve throughput.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inventory area; follow safety procedures and participate in audits. **

• Assist with disassembly of Chromebooks and related devices to remove, identify, and sort internal components.
• Safely handle sensitive electronic components such as motherboards, displays, batteries, and cables.
• Identify reusable, damaged, and nonconforming parts during teardown and ensure proper classification and tracking.
• Work closely with repair technicians and operations to ensure correct parts are staged and available for repairs.
• Demonstrated inventory counting and variance reconciliation experience.
• Proficiency with inventory systems
• Strong attention to detail; able to follow and improve SOPs/checklists.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds at a time **

• Comfortable handling electronics and small components; able to open devices and work with internal parts carefully.

Preferred**
• Experience working with Chromebooks/laptops or electronics parts (motherboards, screens, batteries).
• Familiarity with ESD best practices and electronics handling procedures.
• Experience in a repair depot, refurb, or electronics warehouse environment.
