  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    This position oversees the procurement of parts, tools, equipment, maintenance supplies, safety gear, and other operational materials used in recycling facilities. Inventory ensures timely replenishment based on minimum stock levels and usage. Inventory liaises with internal teams and external suppliers to streamline procurement and inventory control processes.

    Key Responsibilities

    _ Inventory Management:_

    • Monitor stock levels of supplies, tools, and parts used in recycling operations. • Maintain and review reorder thresholds to ensure they align with usage trends.

    • Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits.

    • Update Maximo to reflect inventory levels and movements in real time and investigate any discrepancies in inventory counts.

    • Track inbound and outbound orders to prevent overstocking and out-of-stock (OOS) situations.

    _ Purchasing & Vendor Management:_

    • Coordinate with the Corporate Procurement Team to participate in AIM-wide contracts and negotiated rates (where applicable) to ensure best value for the site.

    • Coordinate the logistics of purchase orders, stock transfers, deliveries, tagging, and processing.

    • Process and document returns to vendors as required following established procedures.

    • Ensure a competitive sourcing process is being followed for all procurement activities.

    • Identify when inventory hits reorder points and initiate RFQs (Requests for Quotes).

    • Evaluate supplier quotes based on pricing, lead time, and payment terms.

    • Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) in a timely manner.

    • Track and expedite deliveries to avoid downtime in operations.

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors.

    _ Cross-Functional Collaboration:_

    • Investigating and resolving any PO discrepancies, including quantity, quality, pricing, or delivery issues, in coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders.

    • Coordinate with Operations and maintenance to anticipate needs.

    • Communicate proactively with operations staff about stock levels and delivery timelines.

    • Support cost control efforts by identifying savings opportunities in vendor sourcing or purchasing practices.

    • Coordinate with maintenance and assets management.
