POSITION OVERVIEW

InvestCloud is looking for a Systems Engineer to grow our team. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with a passion for computing. The role includes working on the Linux and Windows servers, gaining expertise in technologies like SaltStack, SQL, Active Directory, and NoSQL databases, and supporting desktop users with their PCs and Macs. The role is varied; you must have flexibility and willingness to work hard and learn new things.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Report to the manager of Platform Support with the ability to interface with multi-disciplinary teams

• Help manage InvestCloud’s proprietary technologies for data management, sharing, and distribution

• Escalation point for production support issues

• Work to automate and script manual processes to scale efficiency of support and infrastructure tasks

• Manage assigned tasks contributing to Platform level projects

• Maintain best practices for technical operations

• Participate in brain-storming and other idea-generating team sessions

• Work to continuously develop expertise within key areas of technical operations

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience in Systems Administration / DevOps Role preferred but not required

• Working knowledge of Linux

  • Ubuntu / Red Hat / CentOS are our preferred distributions

• Experience with common scripting languages

  • Bash and Groovy preferred

• Experience with common editors

  • Vim or Emacs

• Experience managing and maintaining web servers such as Nginx, IIS, Tomcat, Apache, Glassfish

• Working knowledge of SQL Databases and their use

• Experience in DNS Administration such as A, CNAME, MX, TXT

• Experience in Active Directory Administration

• Experience working with SSL Certificate Enrollment Processes

• Experience with Symantec NetBackup

• Experience with VMWare VSphere

• Comfort with the setup and troubleshooting of both PCs and Macs

• Experience supporting users with varying levels of technical skills and abilities
